darnit, so am I. :d

;) thanks for the review.

Excellent!

I like how the song fades in. It seems to make the listener give into the song.

RATING:

10 out of 10 STARS

5 out of 5 IN EXCELLENCE

Why Is This My New Favorite Song?

Because of how catchy and super freakin' epic this is!
It is the most perfect and retro loop I have EVER heard.
Just ... Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ...

durn responds:

lol, sweet. glad you liked it, duffany. :)

Very nice!

I really like it, but I don't think it's quite up there with Summer Solace though.

I don't know how you'd do it, but I'd like to hear more variation somewhere in there.

And a very simple thing: I think the song would have a better intro if you just added a phrase of *just* the base sound to the beginning, so the first 6 seconds or so were only the cool base sound, because right now you're already introducing the higher pitched sound (i don't know what to call it) and making the sound "focus" before the first phrase is even over.

If i'm not using the right terminology, by phrase i mean the length of the base loop which is about 6 seconds long.

durn responds:

I know what you're saying, Drago. On both counts. I tried the beginning without the higher elements and it ended up just sounding a bit too flat, probably due to the master compression I was using. I'm not going to be doing that kinda compression anymore as it unbalances elements at different times in the songs.

And agreed, I could've varied the lead melody between the chorus/verse, I just loved how it harmonized with both bass lines. I'm a sucker for harmony. :d

Thanks for the excellent review. :)
