Reviews for "Our World {durn}"

Nice man!

I agree with the last guy though some more 'movements' like the one at midway, would have been really cool, also, sometimes, just taking the time to run a second lead track can make all the difference in variety! Just a tip! Time to see ur other stuff!

durn responds:

ya, I layered a copy of the lead synth in the last section using a rising stab pattern, suppose I shoulda tried more with that idea earlier throughout the song coupled with a different melody. :) bit of artist's arrogance on that one. I just like the way the melody's harmonic with both bass riffs, don't think I'll change it. :d

thanks for the review, man :)

awesome!

way better than anything i could come up with! i love the bassline! also smooth intro. only thing i dont like so much are the cymbals. they seem a bit too "edgy" or "bright". other than that, awesome!

durn responds:

yeah, probably my poor high-frequency reception coming back to haunt me. :) I constantly have to pop my ears to hear higher frequencies so it's no surprise that what sounds fine to me might be a bit harsh for others. :) I'll tweak down the highs a tad more next time! :D

Ur own cool proggy house athem

I must say, that this is the best song on the top 5s of this week.
The only thing i really can complain about, is that, the song sounds muddy, and everything sounds like one big "cake".

Take off the limiter?

5/5

Gratz ^^,

durn responds:

aye, I've got a minimal amount of master channel compression going on. I agree it sounds a bit too thick but without it I felt it sounded too thin. sooo, yeah, I'll find the proper balance in future songs. :D

thanks for the review, man. :) glad you liked it.

*GOBSMACKED* again

This sounds near identical to a daft punk/louis la roche track! Very proffesional, this should be in the charts..

So you didn't use any samples in this - they're all your own melodies? It kinda sounds like a sample - which is a good thing - very good...

Keep up more of the sick house tunes man they're awsome...
BuddhaBoy

durn responds:

Aye dude. :) I create all original melodies for my tunes. I used to be very opposed to using loops of any kind but now I've caved and I use hi-hat/percussion loops since it allows me to focus more on my melodies.

Glad to hear you think they've got a sample-like quality to them, though! :D Thanks for the review, buddha! :)

You're very good.

But I've noticed that a lot of your songs sound the same. You need to come up with an entirely new beat and rhythm, a new sound. I'm not saying what you're doing is bad by any means, but I'm saying that if an artist can't keep it fresh, then he's gunna get stale. Good work on this though.

durn responds:

Don't you worry, Robin. I'm always trying new things. Just bought Record a few weeks ago and have been familiarizing myself with it so expect something fresh soon. :)

The new song's even in a different key than what I normally use! :O

Thanks for the listen and the honest opinion. :)
