Maybe I'm only judging the band by one specific song, but the most boring band (or song since I'm referring to one song) has to be Sleep. Their 63 minute song Dopesmoker puts me to sleep (literally). Apologies to all the stoner metal fans who read this, but that song is good to listen to if I have sleeping problems.

:::played 15 hours of Team Fortress 2 over the weekend, but none of them with our favourite neighborhood dragon::: ;_;

Team Fortress 2 is so good, so fun... my gf actually ASKS me to play it so she call pull a chair up to the computer desk and watch me.

I normally have to beg this girl to be interested in most computer games (she's strictly a video game console girl)... it's an amazing sight.

Breakin' down the Orange Box:

Portal: played 15 hours total. mostly all evenings on Monday and Tuesday last week, right after getting Orange Box on my birthday. It took me less than 4 hours to beat it, so the hour total shows how much I'm enjoying the commentary (2nd play through) and playing through it again (technically now a 3rd play through) to pick up all the achievements I missed the first time (30,000 feet drop, 300 feet jump, destroy all 33 cameras)..... also, half that total playtime is probably from doing the bonus maps, both the portal/steps/time challenges and the "insanely harder chambers" challenges. I did all 6 of those, but I've only done all 3 modes of the portal/steps/time ones on 13/14/15/16. Still need to do 17/18 on those. NEED MOAR ACHIEVEMENT (11 out of 14 right now).

Half-Life 2: played 5 hours total. I don't mean to ignore this one, especially when I did love the original Half-Life and was one of its original fans and players (though I never tried/played Counterstrike or Team Fortress Classic... I'm making up for that this time around, trust me).... it's just that I'm already deep into the single player storylines of Halo and Bioshock right now (and barely started them in Doom 3 and Warcraft III) from June.... so I was reluctant at first to really get wrapped up in yet another single player storyline (Portal was an exception due to uniqueness, word of mouth from friends online, and finally... short playtime). BUT I WAS CRAZY. Half-Life 2 is awesome. I'm at the part where you take teh hoverboat all over the nice clean water (after all that toxic sludge) and start running over the Combine soldiers. SO MUCH FUN!

Team Fortress 2: again, played 15 hours total. All over the weekend. Been playing on really just three servers, all that claim to be noob/newb friendly, but two of which routinely have pyros with backburners (the super-uber flamethrower) + really excellent snipers and spies (at least, to me). Enjoying all the various forms, from the 5 control point game to the usual red-defends, blu-captures control 3 control point game to the 3vs3 territories control game to good ol' capture the flag to.... PAYLOAD.

So far, I'm enjoying payload the most, as it's the most novel to me. Being a blu Heavy and just firing the minigun nonstop while walking slowly alongside the bomb/cart... is so much damned fun. Overall, so far my fave classes are Heavy, Pyro, Medic, and Engineer. But I'm trying to get more into the Scout (which was my fave class for the first few hours along with Heavy, but I never went back to him for some reason) and also learning how to spy...

If you think I have typed in CAPS TOO MUCH here, then I must still be feeling aggressive about my course problems today. Basically, I was told by the people who run the course I'm taking now that I am entitled to EMA when I'm there. HOWEVER, when I got the EMA form today, it turns out I wasn't fucking entitled after all. I know I didn't get any EMA when I was in college, but I was told by the fucking company that I was going to get fucking EMA. So today, I went on a rampage and kicked myself to death to apply to 11 places tonight. And whenever I have time (I wouldn't mind taking a day off the crappy course tomorrow to do this), contact all the other places I was gonna apply to, but can only do so via telephone or mail.

I guess what also got me quite mad is that my friends appear to be meeting up tomorrow and the fact that I'm in some crappy course at the time they all get to talk to each other really pissed me off. I probably shouldn't get angry over that, but there I go. Infact, I should be looking forward to my 18th birthday. *sigh* If only I wasn't thrown into this "professional" course.

And yeah, I know I'm rambling, but whatever. Still, screw this course that I didn't need to take in the 1st place
