Eh, I check in from time to time, just usually don't find anything that really compels me to post. I just don't fit in with the userbase here as well as I did when I was in high school.

Most of my time on Reddit has been on left-wing socialist/communist subreddits, and the lack of homophobia, racism, misogyny, etc. has been a huge breath of fresh air from the kinds of comments on Newgrounds' forum. Granted, it isn't like that everywhere on Reddit, but there's still pockets of good people to talk to.

Honestly, I don't check out Reddit too much, but that might just be because most of my time is spent in college or producing music. Then there's YouTube. Always so much stuff to watch and too little time to read. What time I would be on Reddit is often spent on new console games or making music, or napping, lol. I'd probably spend more time there if Reddit as a whole were as accepting as its tamer subreddits. I do occasionally pop in if a question I hack into the old Google box leads me there, though. It's hard to digest but a nice community overall.

The General threads are pretty much full of trolls, and I think after new users get trolled enough trying to change that, they eventually just join the pack. Kind of sad. But at least it lead me to toughen up a bit. Now I laugh at hateful comments, honestly.

Socialism scares me, not on paper -- but in actuality. No government has ever made true socialism work. People always get into power and turn it into fascism essentially. I won't turn this thread into a huge debate, but I encourage you to look into forms like r/socialism_101, they can clear up a lot of misconceptions and misinformation, like the idea that doctors and farmers are paid the same, or that socialism is undemocratic. I had a lot of these same misconceptions too, and while that's not to say "Oh, you'd be a socialist if you knew more," understanding why states like the USSR and PRC turned out the way they did, and what it means in regards to socialism, is important.
