Well, I thought I might as well chip in here, since I've been using last.fm for a little while now.

And since the going thing seems to be posting the last week's top music plays, I might as well join in.
As you can tell, I haven't been listening to a tonne of music lately, though since I'm back at Uni now, that should change soon.
My top eight most played artists are slowly being put out of their place by metal/alternative bands. I listened to quite a lot of Motörhead, Melvins and Volbeat albums yesterday and now all three made it into my top eight.

There are so many punk bands that I want to see. Stiff Little Fingers being one of them, but I very rarely attend gigs, so I'm starting to think I'm never going to see them. If only I could attend Rebellion Festival one year, I think my life would be complete.

Where in Scotland do you live? The Barrowlands is the definitive Fingers gig, I'd love to get up to that some year. It's their 20th year running they've been doing a St. Patrick's Day gig there this year. Bet it'll be fucking awesome.

The Scottish Borders. About as far South as you'll get, almost. I think it's about a two hour drive to get to Glasgow. Sadly, I don't know if I'd be able to attend their St. Paddy's Day gig. I guess I could take the day off uni, but there's still the issue of getting to Glasgow.

Yeah, I was worried about missing uni (I would have if I had to, I skipped 3 days to go see The Pogues last year), but they're doing Newcastle on the Saturday after I break up for Easter, so it's not a problem. Nice way to start the holiday.

Death is one of my top ten favorite bands. What albums have you listened to? Personally I think a good starting point is with their earlier old school death metal thrash-like sound, with either Scream Bloody Gore or Leprosy (my first from their library). Then you can work your way up chronologically.

They have awesome stuff. Give Symbolic a listen to, even if it's the most accessible album of theirs.

I've only heard an occasional song of theirs, though I didn't mind their sound. I might track down Leprosy and Symbolic, and see how it goes from there.

I always used to use the loved tracks radio before it was scrapped, and I still use the recommended radio and similar artists and tag radios a reasonable amount.

Nah man, the point of last.fm is to keep track of, and whore out music stats.
But really. I used to listen to the radio, but I find myself not listening to it not as much anymore. I can say it introduced me to a fair number of bands that I like, same with Pandora. It's too bad Pandora has an hour limit now.

Hell, it was you that brought me to Last.fm and I checked out some of the radio stations, thus exploring loads of new bands at the time. I'm still grateful for the radio stations for that, even if it was 5 years ago.
I found a lot of great bands through the radio. Too bad to see it go.
