Hey, just dropping by again, hope I'm remembered around here. I've been posting in this topic since 2004 maybe, shame no one I know seems to be posting on this topic at the moment, unless you changed your nicknames or something.

Caught out!

Sometimes if they contribute decently enough, other times in the vein of some other posters its a lesson in reading poor grammar.

Hey everybody , I'm back.
Sorry for not posting in a long time.

Anyway, here's my team.

Torterra_ Lvl. 72_Bold Nature_ Leftovers_ Overgrow
Stone Edge
Earthquake
Wood Hammer
Crunch/Superpower

I'm got Leftovers for the recoil of Wood Hammer and I'm no sure to pick
Superpower or Crunch.

Togekiss_ Lvl.69_ Quirky Nature_ Life Orb_ Hustle
Shock Wave
Sky Attack
Psychic
Aura Sphere

Sky Attack is for the Hustle ability and I don't plan to change it soon.

Magnezone_ Lvl.68_ Adamant Nature_ Focus Band_ Magnet Pull
Mirror Coat
Iron Head
Thunderbolt
Signal Beam

Mirror Coat is great with special Fire and Fighting attacks and combined with the Focus Band
makes a great combination.

Floatzel_ Lvl.70_ Timid Nature_ Razor Fang_ Swift Swim
Ice Fang
Waterfall
Crunch
Rain Dance(Soon to be.)

Rain Dance is for the Dry Skin ability of my Toxicroak.

Houndoom_ Lvl.69_ Rash Nature_ Power Herb_ Flash Fire
Shadow Ball
Heat Wave
Dark Pulse
SolarBeam

I don't want to waste time and find a sunny day TM so I gave it a Power Herb instead.

Dragona(Flygon)_ Lvl.58_ Careful Nature_ Yache Berry_ Levitate
Fire Punch
Dragon Claw
Ice Punch
Earthquake

I'm trying to max it's Atk stat.

Toxicroak_Lvl.69_ Gentle Nature_ Muscle Band_ Dry Skin
Poison Jab
Ice Punch
Brick Break
X-Scissor

Clearly you guys can see why I gave it this moveset.

Gardevoir_Lvl.51_Naive Nature_Lum Berry_Synchronize
Psychic
Focus Blast
Thunder Wave
Attract

I'm trying to balance inflicting status conditions and attacks for this Gardevoir.

That is my team so far and feel free to comment any time.

Why use Shock Wave? Use Thunderbolt instead for more power. Psychic is a terrible typing, so change it for Ice Beam. Aura Sphere is amazing.

Sky Attack is for the Hustle ability and I don't plan to change it soon.

With the low PP, one turn to charge it, and horrible accuracy, you are going to find yourself to be extremely frustrated.

Magnezone_ Lvl.68_ Adamant Nature_ Focus Band_ Magnet Pull
Mirror Coat
Iron Head
Thunderbolt
Signal Beam

Replace Iron Head with Flash Cannon.

Get rid of Shadow Ball. Never use Ghost and Dark type attacks in the same moveset. They hit the same types super effectively. Heat Wave is a cool move but the loss of 10% accuracy for just a tiny bit of extra power is not really worth it. Either go with Flamethrower for perfect accuracy with almost the same power, or drop a little more accuracy for a powerful Fire Blast.

Toxicroak_Lvl.69_ Gentle Nature_ Muscle Band_ Dry Skin
Poison Jab
Ice Punch
Brick Break
X-Scissor

Clearly you guys can see why I gave it this moveset.

Sucker Punch can save you from Psychics.

I'm gonna change Psychic and Shock Wave like you said.

Sky Attack is for the Hustle ability and I don't plan to change it soon.

So what move am I gonna change it for. Air Slash?

Magnezone_ Lvl.68_ Adamant Nature_ Focus Band_ Magnet Pull
Mirror Coat
Iron Head
Thunderbolt
Signal Beam
Replace Iron Head with Flash Cannon.

The problem with that is that Flash Cannon is a one-time TM for the game,
and I accidentally made it forget that move for Gyro-Ball.
So I'm gonna stay with Iron Head, it's flinching saved me a lot of times in the past
and it's gonna save me in the future too.

If I give it Flamethrower it'll give me a total of 600,000 pokemon money to spend.
(Combined with the Ice Beam and Thunderbolt changes to my Togekiss.)
So I'm gonna go with Fire Blast.

Toxicroak_Lvl.69_ Gentle Nature_ Muscle Band_ Dry Skin
Poison Jab
Ice Punch
Brick Break
X-Scissor

Clearly you guys can see why I gave it this moveset.
Sucker Punch can save you from Psychics.

Toxicroak can learn that with a Heart Scale, right?

P.S. Do you guys have a Rain Dance TM? I already sold mine before I thought about teaching it
to my Floatzel.

I would say yes, but Air Slash is only good on a Serene Grace variant.......but with Hustle.......hm, I guess Aerial Ace is your best bet, as like with Aura Sphere, Hustle won't affect the accuracy any. Slightly underpowered, but the ability will make up for it.

Welcome, I guess. It's been a little inactive lately though. I haven't played Pokemon in a while, been too hung up on Exams, TF2 and the new Mario & Luigi RPG game.

What's the new game like then, any good? I have to admit, speaking of pokemon I've been itching to play my sister's version, having deleted my game about a year ago and giving it away. But all that grinding...

'Sup?
As I announced, I have Pokémon HeartGold and SoulSilver 5 MONTHS before they're slated to come out in the US. (I let my brother play SoulSilver even though he can't read the text.)
Sadly, I can't figure out how to use the PokéWalker device it came with. Serebii.net is no help either...

Yeah, very. Personally I reckon it's the best in the series.

Also, when's the US release of Heartgold and Soulsilver? I think I might import from the US, providing there aren't stupid region restrictions on Wifi events etc.

I don't think there is an official release date yet,but the first English trailer said Spring 2010.

Nintendo must have run out of ideas with their Pokemon franchise since they're remaking ANOTHER stack of previous games. JUST SAYING

I'm still counting the days until the ruby/sapphire remake. :)

It seems like the main reason for the remakes, though, is to provide a method for filling up the national dex without depending on a previous generation. With the existence of the DSi and its lack of a GBA slot, Nintendo is trying to move away from depending on pal park to obtain Pokemon from a previous generation. with heartgold and soulsilver, it should now be possible to complete the national dex by catching Pokemon from within generation 4 games. The same is kinda true for firered/leafgreen. After all, it's impossible to import Pokemon from a generation 2 game. period.

On an unrelated note, I just obtained my Arceus from toys r us yesterday. I would have rather received the azure flute and caught him myself, but I'm not complaining about having the alpha Pokemon. the special moveset is pretty awesome, though.

I just got the Arceus gift at Toys R Us too. Every time I pick it up from that mailman in the Pokemart, I don't save it after, so everytime I pick him up, I see Arceus with different stats and a different nature. I'm just pointing that out for people who dislike their Hardy/Careful/Bold natured Arceus.

Welcome to the world of the 4th Generation my friend, along with the wonders of the Physical/Special split.

Also, I was wondering, do we have enough people with an active Wifi connection that we could try and organise a sort of mini-tournament? This type of thing has failed (spectacularly I might add) in the past, but if enough people can be online, maybe we could give it a go.

I guess it's worth a shot. Just off the top of my head, though, the crazy timezone differences between some of us and knowing that many of us probably have school or work during the daytime would be our biggest obstacles.

I'll join in, hoping it doesn't fail again.

Agreed. I'm back at home on Summer break, so it might be a little easier for me. Dunno, we'll have to see how many more people are interested before we start anything though.

Shin/Twilt/Comet/Stara/etc...

My sister finally found her DS so I'm going to build up a team and then go out of my way to get asmany shinies as I can by the end of the year. So far I have err zero but I still need to beat the game. Also, any idea of my Official party which will be the carriers and baby-sitters through the E4 for all the other ones I train up (to in turn; trade for shinies)?
So far I have a modest Charizard in mind as well as a Gengar.

Well, I WAS going to go with a DS Lite, but the DSi has a few features that'll be handy in the long run, and with HGSS, I probably won't necessarily need Pal Park anyway.........

I REALLY should have planned in advance, but I wasn't sure I'd get one this year at first...

I do have them, but they've both been restarted to the very beginning, and it seems somewhat pointless now.

If necessary, I can always trade for something.

Well if you have Ruby it would be neat to transfer your own Latios and Groudon. I don't think many people will trade those away.
