I can see why WWE did it, they want the Night of Champions show to have something big to draw, and with the draft, a lot of stuff is in a holding pattern till they figure out exactly who they want to flip where.

I'd class HHH/Hardy as a bigger draw than HHH/Cena, but I guess the WWE don't. Or a majority of the audience for that matter.

I ended up missing both Raw and ECW so I'm a bit behind in whats going on. What happened of note?

I did see Estrada was replaced by Long...Tad weird considerign that Raw has no GM while ECW was doing fine in that reguard.

I also signed up for that money giveaway. I'll never win but whatever.

Kane whooped CM Punk, Miz and Morrison came in at the end to jump Kane (so now we know who Kane is going to be facing next week), there was a fatal 4 way in the beginning between CM Punk, Tommy Dreamer, Chavo, and Shelton, CM Punk won that. Armando had a match with someone, I forgot who and he lost it, then Teddy came out and gave him another match between him and Colin, which he lost. I don't really like RAW, it's kind of boring. But this week I'm gonna see if I can win that million dollars, I signed up on WWE.com and everything.

ON A SECOND NOTE: Is anyone here a member of the WWE fan nation?

He won the four-way, then lost to Kane... But what stood out for me was the how the fans slowly but surely started to get behind him once they realized that Kane wasn't gong to just squash him. I'll say it again, its completely baffling to see a dude that's booked so poorly, yet he STILL manages to get the fans behind him.

Not only that, Kane had his best singles match in a long time against Punk. I just don't get how the higher-ups can completely ignore this.

I gotta think it's like RVD, you have people there who either watched him in ROH and elsewhere, so they understand how talented he is (or they've gotten tapes or DVDs), or it's just that Punk looks and acts differently then a lot of other characters on that roster. He sort of evokes an MMA, "This is real" element. MVP has some of that too, both those guys are the type that WWE supposedly always says they want. The guys who when they get in the back or get time off don't just go play video games or do other stuff, they are watching the rest of the show, they're watching tapes, they're committed to their business and their craft.

Not only that, Kane had his best singles match in a long time against Punk. I just don't get how the higher-ups can completely ignore this.

Oh, I agree, I don't think it's fair to say Kane just killed Punk. He beat on him yes, but Punk got quite a few hope spots and was even somewhat in control at times. What I don't understand is we have Big Show with bone fractures and shit in his face, that doesn't mean he'll miss the PPV, but hey, it COULD, so why aren't they booking that match last night for Punk to win. Then you can say "Punk has a win over the champion, that puts him in line for a shot" don't say it's at NOC, just say "he's in line for a shot" then you can either have him use it at NOC if Show is hurt, or if you need to do a three way or something to protect Show and his injuries. If you don't? Then you can give Punk a title match later and elevate him based on that. I don't understand why he gets beat clean, and then Miz and Morrison attack. Hey, even if you didn't want to put him over, why couldn't Miz and Morrison interrupt, then you can revisit Kane and Punk working together because Miz and Morrison ruined they're match, and Punks chance at climbing the ladder to a title shot.

The only reason I've ever heard for Vince and crew not being behind Punk (and it's super lame) is that they see him as a "King of the indies" and they don't like having guys on the roster that people think are stars that WWE didn't tell the audience are stars. Goes back to that obsession with control of all aspects of their business, and treating the fans as just slaves who should buy and believe whatever their told to.

Hey guys, I know that no one will remember me but I was actually in this club a while back under the name of Discosheep. I was away from NG for a while as life got busy, and, since then, I have also had my username changed to my real name, Nicholas (you can call me Nick).

Anyway, now that I got some free time I'm making my way back onto NG and decided to pop into the Wrestling Club again.

With that being said, I want to go on a JBL rant. ^_^

To start, please tell me there is someone here who thinks JBL isn't getting the push he deserves. Now, I'm all about equality, but come on. His year-long reign on Smackdown was the best thing to happen in wrestling in many years. There was so much good talent leading the show ranging from JBL himself to a lot of great enemies such as Kurt Angle and Eddie Guerrero. All I'm saying is that I don't think he deserves to spend so much time making his way back up the ranks, so to speak. Whether you are for or against Cena I think we can all agree that he has been in the main event long enough, and that someone else should get a chance. Just when I thought this was starting to happen, they put Cena over JBL at ONS. Then he gets a match against Chris Jericho which ends up making him look like he did against Cena in the I Quit? I think JBL needs to rule a brand again. His heel tactics and underhanded strategies are just so fun to hate. He cuts a great promo, and he is a great in-ring performer. I just think he deserves more than they are giving him. If they wanted to play their cards right, have Triple H beat Cena which would make 2/3 of the contenders down. Then have JBL get the upset, have a back and forth feud, and then if they wanted Triple H to remain champ, have JBL be traded to SD! with the lottery coming up and continued there. I don't really know what to do, but do something, for the love of god.

I always felt JBL was dramatically over-pushed. Especially because he sucks up to Vince and he was given a character that Vince sees himself as to a large degree.

JBL was fine in a mid-card role, but he was bullshit and a bust to me as the WWE champ as he never got a single credible or clean win, and I hate that shit personally. You can be a heel and still get the occasional clean win. But ever since he's come back from his back injury he's been crap. His promos have been horrible rambling affairs, his work has been slow and boring. No, JBL is right where he should be, and is probably even a bit overpushed at this point as he just in no way merits a shot at headliner anything.

I've never been a JBL fan. I thought he was ok during his APA days, but other than that he's really not all that good. He just makes me want him to shut up for the most part.

Sucks to hear that Big Show got hurt. I wonder if his nose was weakened when Floyed broke it before Mania? At least CM won the Fatal Four Way, so at least his credibility to win is still somewhat there. Yeah he lost to Kane but you could argue the fact that he had a match before so he wasn't at 100%.

Yay! I've always liked D'Lo. I hope he has a better run than he did last time we saw him. I wonder which brand he will end up on?

I met D'lo once at an autograph signing. He was real nice, and was joking with everybody.

I'm glad to hear D'Lo is returning, as he is one of the wrestlers I was really sad to see leave, and is one of the better mid-carders out there.

Also, I'm kinda surprised at the JBL comments. I mean sure, he definately hasn't been top notch since his return, and I do understand the clean win comment (that did get a little annoying, even for a JBL fan such as myself). As a matter of fact, while everyone else was pissed that the major babyface at the time couldn't beat JBL, I was always pissed that JBL never beat them cleanly. I have always believed that winning his matches with a brutal Clothesline from Hell rather than a cheap shot or Cabinet interruption would have made his gimmick even more badass. I mean it was cool to see him pull out a cheap win every once in a while, but all the time did get pretty old.

However, all these comments about how fat he has gotten or how his current promos aren't as good (albeit true) I think deserve a little more credit. He was out of action for at least as long as his title reign itself, if not longer. During that time he obviously let himself go a bit, and upon returning was bogged down by ring rust. I'll admit I was a bit overzealous in my previous post, but I do think that if JBL can get into better shape, step up that caliber of his in-ring performance, and start dishing out promos like he used to, I think he deserves to be put back where he was. For now, yes, keep him where he is until he brings back his A-game (however some of that is also booking - you can't be at your full potential if bookers won't book your correctly) but when the time comes I think he should be champion material again. If not main event, have him win a mid-card title and hold it for a while to show his worthiness.

Btw, JBL > Bradshaw. Always.

Hey, if JBL is willing to get himself back into shape, and get his work and promos up to snuff, absolutely push him. The company could use more dependable headliners right now, but they also need to build the future. The problem with JBL though has always been he's a guy that needs somebody good to lead him, and with his position as one of Vince's favorites, and his outside money and shite, does he even care at this point? I think JBL is where he's going to, and should stay.

I just read that Floyd Mayweather has retired from boxing...and I've heard he wanted to do more in wrestling....cause and effect? Maybe, I think so. We'll see what happens.

Same here. The chances of winning are slim.. However it's not as bad as this former giveaway

SD was pretty good last night. Funaki, Nunzio and Colin got a win with Batista! lol Bad thing is that Khali is back..

I really, REALLY hope that HBK goes to Smackdown in the draft. He's basically fought everyone there is to fight on Raw, besides kicking the kick out of JBL's chin.

But seriously, I can't wait for the draft. I don't even care about this "Champions Only" night crap. I can't wait to see what they're going to give Smackdown for Edge's next opponent.

Just fucking click it.

He'd get the "boo boo" face. He's like H, he see's RAW as the A show and that's where he wants to be. There is a rumor about Batista moving though, I like that idea, and the other portions of the rumor as true. Batista needs to be freshened up.

So, watching a Samoa Joe/CM Punk interview and it reminds me of a story that at least seems kind of funny to me: The time I made the former ROH owner Rob Feinstein say on my cell phone he hoped I thought he was important enough to call back.

More on request, damn I should have saved that message now that I think of it. Fuck.

No, I have not been drinking, but I wouldn't rule that out after the week I've been having, I know some people really seem to like when I'm drunk and post here.

I'm guessing Taker will show back up around the time of the draft. Maybe as a suprise entry or something. Either that or the powers higher up than Viki bring him back. Vince or the board of directors could decide to revoke what Viki did and Taker returns more pissed off than ever.

Feeling a rant coming on Avie? Rants are always fun. Especially when you don't hold anything back.
