On the IE subject: My Dad's email account somehow got hacked and it's the main account that controls everything for the phone and internet. My email address is also linked. So I was on the phone with tech support because I had reset passwords and whatnot as they said. Everything was fine but it really wasn't. They had no reason to believe that the account was hacked. The 2nd tech guy that I was talking to made the fatal mistake of telling me that I should use IE and not Chrome, to which I got really angry and kept telling him that I haven't used IE in years (I don't develop anymore) and will never use it again, especially on my work computer because it's so damn old that IE would be way too slow on that computer. So I almost got to the point of telling him to get his supervisor.

He didn't solve the problem but the next guy did and he even said it wasn't right of the other guy to even say that. I think I've had that 1 particular guy or someone like him in the past for whatever reason because I remember another tech guy at my cable company who told me that I should be using IE. Sure, they needed IE to set my DigiDo software for my Netgear router but I think the tech that came to reinstall the cable just had an IE preference.

Next time that happens and I have to call them for something internet related, which is extremely rare. It's usually something like the internet has been down and it's something to do with their end of things. I don't think a tech should force their opinion on someone like that. Boo!

I made a little program about a week or two ago. It picks a random person from an XML document and goes through the list and eliminates people until one remains. I uploaded it to CodePlex if any of you wanna have a look at the source code.

Pretty good. Finished some work... and sent a PM to a game developer who needs someone to make music for his game.

Sorry for double posting, but I examined your site, and I was wiondering, how do make revenue from it? Are there pop ups or something in the non paid versions?

Nope, sites are ad-free and will always be ad-free. I don't do it to make a profit.

Spending some time on designing my own language called "RFPL"... it's kinda fun.
This outputs "hello world":

out "Hello World!"
pause.key
end

And here's a simple input program:

dim variable()
inp "Enter anything: ", variable
out "You entered '" & variable & "'. That's good."
pause.key
end

That will output this:

Enter anything: 43e-/89
You entered '43e-/89'. That's good.
Press a key to continue...

Opinions?

Quick question, what purpose does pause.key serve?

Big question, how do you design your own programming language?

I assume you use a language like C or C++, but how do you create a interpreter or compile?

You build a parse tree, then you do syntactic analysis, then you do type checking and if all of them go as planed, you go through each node of the parse tree and see what you're supposed to do at that point, if you make an interpreter then you just do it, if you make a compiler then you will turn it into a number which should describe the action that has to be taken to something that is supposed to do that something for you

Looks pretty neat; Is your language going to be object-oriented, functional, procedural or a combination of the three?
Also how do you plan on handling user defined sub-routines? Looks like you're going a sort of Python or Lua route with your syntax, so something like them maybe?

Pauses execution of the application until a key is pressed, I assume.

Also just found this book on creating your own programming language.
Apparently the dude who made CoffeeScript read it, and Matz apparently likes it, so it's probably pretty solid.

Okay, looks like I need to make some explanations first... 'doh. :)
The "pause.key" command: program stops executing until any key is pressed, but you can tell the program what key you want to be pressed to continue executing.

out "Hello World!"
pause.key(key_enter)
end

So the program will stop executing until the [Enter] is pressed. You can also have this:

out "Hello World!"
pause.mouse(left_click)
end

But also this:

out "Hello World!"
pause.mouse(left_click, right_click, onyx)
end

I hope you know what that means. But we also have the problem where you don't know if the user will press a key or click with the mouse to continue. Problem solved in RFPL:

out "Hello World!"
pause.key.mouse(left_click, right_click, onyx)
end

Any further questions?

Looks pretty neat; Is your language going to be object-oriented, functional, procedural or a combination of the three?

I hope it will the combination of the three... I don't know yet.

Also how do you plan on handling user defined sub-routines? Looks like you're going a sort of Python or Lua route with your syntax, so something like them maybe?

Sub-routines? You mean, classes?

That would require a lot of thought and work. I just now thought of it seeing your language you are working on.
