Well, I'm in a not-very-chipper mood. Night before last, my dog of fifteen years had a stroke...and yesterday, when it became clear that she was in terrible pain and not going to get any better, we had to put her down. There are few things in a man's life harder than having to bury your first dog...
It's going to be difficult to put any enthusiasm into...well, anything...but I'll keep handling the administrative functions of the Barracks and all, since doing something is better than doing nothing and ruminating on it.

I was a PFC when I entered the Barracks, way back when. Don't worry, nobody looks down on the lower ranks, and over time you'll rank up (as you just did), and new members will join, and you'll gradually move up the rankings.

This is a good example of something that's been bothering me for a long time now.
The source code may be stolen, but as long as the flash looks and plays differently to the 'original' submission, does it still count as stolen? How similar does one have to be to the other for it to be classed as theft?

Thanks, Coop. It's important to note that fun is always encouraged, but post quality needs to be good enough to not be considered spammy. A good suggestion is to combine several repsonses into one post. That way, if you have a one-liner reponse to someone, you can add it to a larger post. It not only keeps the thread's multiple topics going, but it keeps the "post+1" stuff out of the thread. Thanks!

I know how you feel Slash. Roughly 10-12 years ago maybe even further back, we had an Alaskan Malamute who's name was Durango. He was roughly 10 years old or so, and one summer it just got too hot even though he had a crate that we packed with ice and other things to help keep him cool, it just didn't work. My mom and dad agreed that he had to be out down. He was in pain and he was suffering.

Sorry to hear about that - I know that my cousin's first dog being put down in similar circumstances really hit him hard and so did the second one, a few months back.
I nearly fainted in the vets, when they told us that they had to put my girlfriend's cockatiel down, if that makes you feel any better.

I really love animals cats, not so much dogs and I do know how horrible its feels to have them gone. I feel your pain slash. I had a Nile monitor for several years and It was one of the most important things to me. They're usually extremely vicious and hard to tame, but when I was 12 years old, I got the animal and it was maybe 6 inches long and so young that it was too little to do any damage to me. I spent a few hours a day handling it as much as I could without him getting pissed and just resting my fist in his cage so he could get used to the idea of my hands being around him. I say fist because if you just stuck your hand in there flat and he had a shot at your fingers, buckle up, you're in for some pain. Haha.
I babied that thing for years and years and he ended up being almost like a dog. Whenever I was home I would let him out of his cage, as very rarely would he start ripping into walls and scratching up the carpet like most adult monitors are prone to do. When you have to put that much effort into raising a pet and when the turnout is a great as it was, it's especially difficult to let them go. He died a few months ago. He was right around 5 feet long. I'm hoping to pick up another one once I get out of the army and can spend the time I need to raise it properly. Just have to try and move on with it buddy. :/

My Firefox says one of the scripts in it is causing it to run slowly. I think it's been made using needlessly clunky programming script.
However, I don't think this is deliberate. It's probably a case of the author using outdated script, not a serious attempt to mess with your browser. I'd leave it if I were you.

Yes I had the same problem I'm using a Mac but it crashed, and asked if I wanted to run Action Script which I declined twice. I tested it out and like you said it crashed twice. I don't know if it something to do with computer settings I'm using Camino but its odd.

I doubt that it has something to do with the computer settings. It seems to be what Sheizenhammer said, this being that the author is using an outdated script. I'll contact the author to see if this is a script error, which it probably is. Never had this on any game before though.

He should, however there's a gap between stuff that just deserves a zero until re-done properly and malicious, whistle-worthy content. I think this is somewhere in that gap, and as such (since it's not obviously malicious) I'm giving the guy the benefit of the doubt here.

If anyone remembers that robotic sumo thingy I've been mentioning in my last posts... Well, we ended up winning :D Quite a good experiences, and we got some nice prizes (including a cool 4GB pen drive), and there's still one thing that they called the "Microsoft prize" or something by the style, I don't know what it is yet but probably I will be getting it in some days. Oh Slash I'm sorry to hear that. I hope there was something we could do to make you feel a little bit better. The worst thing about having a pet is that you love it but you know that someday you'll have to go through this sad moment. At least, probably it had a happy life and I'm pretty sure you've always done your best to take care of your dog.

That video has been file-swapped into the portal at least a dozen times already. It's nothing new. We all already know about this user and how much of a hopeless troll he is; there's no real need to report crap like that here (Wade gets rid of it the day it's submitted anyway, PMs or not).
Next time, just send the PM to Wade (if you want to) and let that be the end of it. Frankly, I don't see why he's worth anyone's time at all anymore, since he's so predictable.
All he's really doing is generating a load of whistle points through butthurt reviewers, as well as making a good case for the argument in favor of portal mods. Which works for me. :D
