well, im damn well confused. making a php file serve as a pointer to another php file would be useless, since that pointer is LOCATED in the php file he has access to. except for in-flash _root._url, there is nothing stopping him from using any file youve made available.

even if you were to encrypt the location of that php file within the swf, or, thusly, in the first php file, just by virtue of calling that swf/php file, it would decrypt itself...

my vote: just use that swf encrypter ive linked to a few times, in combination with a url blocker script. the review of it looks like it does an excellent job, and as far as i can tell, its completely secure.

no, flash calls a php file, which access a database, it retrieves the url to a second php file which it then calls. so yes, hell be able to get to teh first php file, but then all hell come up with is some shit for accessing databases, then the only way he can get to the second database is by hacking into the database

so the first php file is acting as a pointer to the second php file, but it doesnt contain the url for it, the url for it is in a database on a the website

Now, I don't know actionscript, but I have viewed it and I understand what it is.

Now I was just wondering that maybe you can put in your script something that tells it to ONLY ALLOW Newgrounds or whatever site you want to put it on, instead of just blocking everything else. That would be a lot better and probally easier on the person who wants to block out whatever.

Also, could you put in your script something that tells it to block certain files, such as the decompilers. I know you probally couldn't put to block decompilers completely, but name the certain thing. Like how you had Bad URL www.eBaumsworld.com, instead you could have something like Bad File or Block File "Decompiler.(file type)".

I don't know if that would be out of your ability, or just plain impossible, but I'm just saying... it could be possible. And very helpful.

There is a code that stops the flash from working unless it is on a certain site. (For example Newgrounds, if not - it won't load) Also there is an Oomblater or something like that that adds lots of things to Actionscript that makes it hard to read and encrypts it.

Actually, Inglor, ebaum's is more than theft. In many of the countries that signed the Berna Agreement (or however it is translated into English), the violation of copyright with money involved is an act of *piracy*. Anyway, the moral is: never think that an author has less rights than Adobe because is not a multi-zillion budget company. If having a downloadable, free, illegal copy of any copyrighted program in a site for public download is illegal and an act of piracy, the same applies to any illegal copy of any copyrighted flash movie or game. As you said, Inglor, no jokes here. Even if Ebaum closed tomorrow and gave all the money to those authors he's been piracing and raping, he would make them no favor. Also, any script like that can be found in seconds. Flash's built in search function can find code anywhere, even if you were to say nest it in 100 movie clips at the corner of the stage.

There might be a way to avoid it using external as files, but even then I bet he'd find it.

Could you somehow make it so it order to access(not view, but access) the file itself you need a password. So to decompile it you need to insert a password on it.

I dunno, I'm just full of ideas.

When exporting, click Protect From Import, then enter a password. They can only import your file if they have the password.

Maybe is a good thing they steal stuff, because eventually artists/coders will catch on that they're getting ripped and start to safegaurd against the theft. Then what will the site do? obviously it will die or pay. Then who has the upper hand?
