I'm in since it's this fantasy game I fare best at. Will also join a couple in ESPN as well.

I missed out the last couple years and I'd be happy to join the fantasy league again.

I guess I'll consider it, and (given that I love it personally) will most likely end up starting it up over teh weekend. If and when I do, I'll post the join-up info here, and everyone that was in it last year will also get a notification.

I'm up for some fantasy basketball.

Its going to be a down year for the Pistons and their fans. I think they'll be a high scoring team, but they'll also be one of the weaker defensive teams in the league.

I hate to say it, but barring any injuries (I'm looking at you, KG!!) I think we'll get and LA/Boston finals... Though the Spurs could give LA some trouble out west.

Ben Gordon was a good addition for the Pistons but the rest of the team is pretty awful. Kwame Brown as starting center and Chris Wilcox as backup? Man that's pretty rough. Ben Wallace doesn't have a whole lot left anymore either.

Indeed, firing Saunders and trading Billups happens to be huge mistakes, the Pistons are going downhill sad to say.

I could be up for fantasy. Last year I tried letting people know that we were doing a league but we didn't get much of a showing.

So that makes five...if anyone has anyone else that can get in on it or can be invited in please let me know. I'll probably start it up tonight/tomorrow. 5 is not nearly enough though, we need at least double that to have a viable league or else I'd just have to make teams with doubly big rosters (which i dont mind, but still).

Sent out PMs to everyone who replied in here, now I'm aiming to send out Y! messages to everyone that was in the league last year that didn't reply on here, and also take a look in the NG Hockey league to check if anyone in there is down for some fantasy bball.

I set a 14-team max iirc, so if anyone knows of people that would like to join up (preferably NGers but no real preference here), please let me know or get them to join up.

guys, just throwing this out there...since we have just 8 teams in the league this year, should i expand the roster size to make the waiver wire pool a little more shallow and thus the league a little more difficult? or is it solid the way it is?

I think 2 more people would be better than anything else. I can probably get my buddy (CFL BOI in the football league) to join, if there is someone else to even out the divisions again. 8 teams is really shallow for a h2h league, you'll play the same team what like 4 times a season? Then 6/8 make the playoffs?

I've never been a fan of massive rosters, because it eliminates to a degree, the fun of deciding who to play/bench on any given night, but I'm unfamiliar with how deep basketball is with fantasy viable players. So I'm not really sure.

In an 8-team league it's very easy to have a lot of fantasy-relevant players on the waiver wire.

10-team to a lesser degree, and 12-team less than that. generally, as you might be able to see through the hockey league, 14-team and deeper makes it very hard to find anything in the waiver wire. Thus, the opposite applies here, because an 8-team league will have a lot of starters/good bench players on the ww for a while.

but yeh. i don't have anyone else that would want to join...however, i COULD publish the league so that two to four more people join, but they wouldn't be from NG and they likely wouldn't check in too often (although i tend to try and keep the rosters fairly active for teams that have been more or less abandoned by an owner). However, the flipside to this equation is that even if we just brought our friends in, these same issues would still apply. So it's up to you guys; let me know within the next day or two so I can publish it at least 12-18 hours before the draft.

Better on a Sunday of so-so games than a Friday or Saturday night. I have exams to study for but I'll still be there. Suck it up. ;]

And indeed, if by like 10-11 PM tonight we don't saddle up with another member, I'll have to publish the league so we get another 1-3 members to join up and keep it even.

Need one more team before 10pm,4 hours away.
