The only limitations are stated in the rules on the post, but there are links to past jams and contests at the top and bottom of Tom's post.

How do i publish my improvement, i need to erase the old one? or how?

You can update your existing video file. If you think you got to a really bad start you could unpublish the current version and start over later but updating is usually fine.

You can absolutely update your file just as Tom said! We just can't guarantee that we'll see any updates you make past the June 27th midnight deadline because that's when we'll start watching and judging all of the entries.
However if you've made some big changes that you think greatly improve the submission i would un-publish and submit a fresh project to get a more accurate and well deserved rating on the site :)

This! I made my entry in the same time frame. It's possible! And a good practice on creating animation in a tight deadline.

Use royalty free music, like from the Audio Portal here.
(Just be sure to double check the licenses).
Tag your entry Stayawakejam and so long as it's on theme, only your characters, at least 15 seconds in length, and an original animation, you should be fine. ^ ^

Just post it with the tag mentioned in the rules, and if it's indeed on theme and within the parameters of the jam, it should be fine.
(Go to page one of this thread to see the rules if you need a refresher).
