Wow I didn't see this post until today! I've been in Cali the past week and a half. Thanks for using my video to show the new awesome looping feature!
Back in my day you could change your username for free, and in parenthesis have a nickname beside your name.
You banned it due to people changing their username's as a joke, for holidays, etc, because when popular content creators would change their name, another user would usurp them by taking their name and hoarding it.

The mock ups you saw from Luis were from a long time ago and never got beyond mocked up images as far as I know. He switched jobs some time ago.

So far when supporters have asked about defunct / unsued usernames I've been able to free them up.

The messy part, I'm assuming, would be users changing usernames, then someone else choosing the previous username freed up. Would be an interesting dilemma, I'm sure. The question would be which one to redirect to, if you would redirect at all in that situation.
With this system, will non-supporters still be able to request a username change? I've changed my username once, not that I particularly would want to change it again in the future due to all the meta-data that would be relatively incorrect on my audio here as a result. Just curious.

Sure, if you wanna permanent name change, just create a thread in Wi/Ht/Help! with the title, "Please change my username" and what you want it changed to in the body.

Ah, okay, so it's essentially a one click for supporters and a thread for non-supporters. Am I reading that right? I've already swapped once via the method you mentioned. Hope they'll keep that up as well.

This is really cool, but could you please extend it to non-supporters in a limited fashion? Maybe once every 6 months or a year? Since Newgrounds isn't letting new accounts be made at this time, my friend gave me his throwaway account from sometime in the 2010s, but I can't change the username since I'm not a supporter. I don't want to talk about finances, but I probably won't be able to become a supporter, so this feature is completely locked for me. It would help a lot if I could even get one change.
