When you say how tall, do you mean relative to my height? If that's the case. They're not very tall at all…
Aside from that, my experience is that when you press a button on a elevator it usually goes to that floor, lol. Unless it's a penthouse. In that case you need a special key or ID.
I don't think there are any elevators near me.
Not sure if this is supposedly to be an inappropriate joke but I live in the suburbs so there's really no buildings more than 30 feet high.

There's this single apartment block near my house which is just over 10 floors tall, but apart from that, nothing much above several stories.

usually 2 and very rarely 3 stories. a lot of single story houses though where there are houses. i live in a rural area.
There's a clocktower but that'll be the tallest building here, I'd estimate around 40 feet tall. I live in a town, so it doesn't exactly boast anything so grand or tall.
Mostly single story houses. A few are two story, but not many.

The nearest elevator is a dozen kilometers away. My home is easily the tallest.

One or two floors for most buildings, with the exception of some old mills that have four or five floors.

Mostly two stories. Live in a pretty rural area. Though not too far out, the buildings get a little taller. Some condos a few miles away are six or seven stories.
