Ever since the latest Chrome update, I keep having tabs crash on my in Chrome - where I get that sad looking folder. This used to only happen when Flash or Unity crashed, but it's happening to me on various pages that don't contain ANY Flash or Unity. I'm not sure if it's happening on other websites since I've been mostly on NG.
Has anyone else been experiencing this with Chrome lately and if so, is it happening primarily on NG or on other websites as well?

I've had this happen. Sometimes the profile gets screwed up and you have to create a new one.
This did happen to me when I used adblock, but since then I've replaced it and haven't had any issues.

Is the unhappy folder icon accompanied by some quirky allusion to highly trained monkeys or other such whimsy? That's so Google, haha! Sometimes I think that makes it worth it.

God, I hate when people say "You should try firefox because chrome is sluggish and shit." No it is not people. It just a update and doesn't mean chrome is broken. Firefox is too slower than chrome [FYI I didn't say better since they're equal okay] but hey, better than IE.

It happened to me last night when I was on tv tropes, but that's the only time it's happened so far. But if this is a bigger issue then I'll try to keep tabs on it know what I'm sayin'

google sync works flawlessly and is the main reason i've primarily used chrome for the past few years
I hated IE7 when it was released. Moved to FF for 2 years and when Chrome came along it blew everything away and I've stuck to it ever since.
I'm quite used to Chrome now, just like I was attached to IE6, but it is getting on my nerves with bloaty shit like desktop notifications. I prefer its developer's tools over other browsers' though.
Decoupling flash from the plugin would open it to mobile devices especially Apple's. Eager to see how it'll pan out.
Strange I had a similar problem last update where tabs crashes and some unresponsive. This latest update no longer have these issues on my end.

Happened to me a couple of times yesterday and today, thought i had to clear my cache or something so i did, didn't fix it.

Yup the update made it easier for stuff to eat up memory its been a real pain in the ass the best thing to do is switch to Firefox due to it being more bare-bone or add more RAM.
Firefox all the way! Better for low & mid computers. Security bests google chromes as well. Google chrome is better for high end computers from what I've read. :-)

HTML5 on Chrome (Version 40.0.2214.111 m)
Trying out a couple of games made in it, it looks like they just don't work on Newgrounds and the tab would freeze up. But they work on other sites.
Unity on Chrome
Tab freezes. After a quick googling, it looks like this is a common problem. It can fixed by reinstalling the Unity Web Player, but problems will be back after rebooting your computer.
HTML5 and Unity on Firefox (35.0.1)
It works.
HTML5 on Chrome on Android
It also works.
Yes, use the browser that's always-on whether you're explicitly using it or not, with constant forced auto-update (shitty design by the way) so it can literally change at any time and you never quite know what you're going to get.
Or use Firefox.
The choice ... is yours!
Firefox needs to get some decent implementation of the Pepper API working though or at some point you may have no choice but to use Chrome if you want to use Flash.
Not Firefox' fault. More idiocy on the part of Adobe migrating everything over to Pepper API rather than just sticking with NPAPI. Makes you wonder just how much $$$ is Google paying Adobe to do this?

What the hell are you guys doing to cause chrome to screw up? I'm not having any problems with tabs crashing, and I usually have about 20-40 open simultaneously.
I've been having that issue alot lately, but it seems to happen frequently when i try and watch "under judgement" games on NG, other websites do it as well but they eventually load, NG page just poops itself when it tries to load
