I still like to buy CDs of my favorite bands. I see them as collectibles and there's just something special about owning a physical copy of every album by your favorite band.

On another note, I'd like to own a few vinyls and a record player. What about you NG?

I bought a CD a few weeks ago. Got it for about $20 and it has a track list of 42 songs so I think it was a good deal. Vinyl is great option if you're into the older stuff otherwise it's too much money for me. Most records over here are about $30. Fuck that. Shame too since I found a great Rega at like $200 on Ebay.

I download straight from the artist on things like Bandcamp if I like the music enough to pay.

Fortunately? my favorite bands aren't very big so even their "special edition" vinyls rarely pass the $30 mark and the CDs are around $10 or $15.

Ok.. so go for it. The more obscure, the more expensive in my area. All I listen to is mostly indie. Import tax means if the records aren't selling they go up.

The artist receives 100% of the money given I am pretty sure. I just got a full album of music I love for just under the price of a drink in a pub, so it's very pleasing.

I still buy cds. I LOVE buying them as well as vinyls AND cassettes.
I dont know why but theres something about actually being able to physically hold the music you bought that you can never get when you get your music digital. Granted digital is more practical and easy to listen to on the go. But it will never be the same as popping in a cd or putting having that feeling of putting the needle down on a vinyl.

The last cd I bought was the Led Zeppelin Celebration Day 2 CD + 1 DVD set thingy. Before that it was Circuital by My Morning Jacket.
The last vinyl I bought was....fuck I dont remember xD though I have a split 7" of Red Fang and ASG pre-ordered off of Relapse Records' website. I got it in white vinyl and its limited to only 500 copies.

I buy CDs if I like the artist enough, then import them to iTunes. I like the artwork.

It depends on the artist for me. I usually buy greatest hits and mixed cds.

Let me see... The last CD I bought was in the spring of 2011, and it was Rage Against The Machine's first album. I dug up it up in a store for $15. Well worth the purchase.

I "buy" music online, then if I like them I buy them and use them when im in the car. I only buy the albums I really really like though.

I haven't bought any CDs since 2007, and even then, you could easily make the argument that buying CDs went out of style a long time ago.

It's still important to show my favorite bands support whenever and wherever possible. That's why I invest in their merch and go to gigs. I haven't been able to go to nearly as many gigs lately as I used to, but I plan on changing that.

The last CD I remember buying was Bryan Adams: The Best of Me, and that must have been 3 or 4 years ago.

I still buy DVD's and Blu'Ray's all the time, though.

My collection of almost 900 CDs has quite a say on that matter and they keep flooding shelves in both of my bedrooms. ;) Generally I prefer getting them on CD as it feels like I have something in my possession and not just a bunch of files on my computer. I don't have many vinyls (infact, just one) but I'll get the best of the best for them.

I buy the CDs yes. Having a physical copy of it which the music can be ripped from for use on the computer is best, that way you always have the CDs spare incase needed.

Mainly because I listen to them with friends/parents. And my parents used to dislike me being so quiet in my own world listening to my iPod while they were talking and having a good time. So I started buying them so I could force them to listen to the shit I do.

Cause some people like collecting things, and some people like getting something physical for their money.

I have lots of books too, but I would rather keep them than get a Kindle.

You're right, or one of those adaptors to the iPod, it'd be a lot cheaper on the long run. But then again having a physical album is a good feel. Opening it and reading the booklet or staring at the cover art while enjoying the music. I feel like it's part of the whole musical experience the way the artist intended.
