How is it that some people can have such large amount of posts in such a short time. There's some people who have more than double my posts and have only been on this site a third of the time I have.
I mean, there's something a little obsessive about 5,000 posts in the space of a year or two.
How do you guys find the time to post so much?

They just have to post more posts per day than you, like 10-15, something that can be easily done.
People can post a lot in a short time frame, usually just made up of +1 posts.

It really isn't hard to average 10-20 posts a day.

I used to post that much, but I've learned to control it a little. Now I'm posting 8 per day or thereabouts, which is about 3,000 posts per year. Still, it's a decent enough average. Mind you, when I patrol the forums and put lock messages on threads, they soon add up.

My personal opinion, but I don't agree with you there. Even when I was very active on this forum I couldn't muster 20+ posts a day. I just struggle to see how people can keep that consitancy up over the space of 3-5 years.

I wasn't always a Mod. 15 months in the job now and I feel more obliged to post in threads that i wouldn't necessarily post in before I was modded. Sure, I might not have opinions on the topic at hand, but I have opinions on people's posting.
I just can't imagine finding 2 hours of every day to make posts. Maybe once or twice a week, but not daily.
I'm hardly here 2 hours a day for posting. I spend more time B/Ping, it's easy to make half a dozen posts in half an hour. Clubs and crews give me space to ramble, as does the Writing section. General is for more mundane stuff and locks.
I was largely inactive 2008 so all these posts are from 2009+

I'm what you would call an irregular poster- I have periods where I can't even access the internet, but other times I post a lot in a short space of time- my post count average does not adequately reflect my posting habits.
I remember I managed a thousand of my posts in under a month.
Some of us just really like chatting on forums.
It's not about '+1ing' to get more 'stats'. It's just about going on a site daily that you like and getting involved with the community.

Wow that actually pretty weird. Well for me I had an old account that had been active sense 06, but I was off
New-grounds for a year so I made a new one. Maybe its because I was used to posting so much on my old one it just rubbed of onto this.

I follow my post average: about 4 or 5 posts in one day. Today, though, I've made about 20 posts. To me, it depends on how much homework was assigned. Seeing everyone else, it inspires me to make higher quality posts--many of them--in a single day.
I don't mean to sound elitist but it's mostly the 2008ers.

I think my 1 post a day average is pretty decent. I think having a shit ton of posts isn't all that bad in itself. If you enjoy posting on the forums then you enjoy it. Once again, your actual count of posts shouldn't really matter.

That's the key. Staying in the general forum can net you a lot of these.
Like other people already said, I think 5,000 posts in two years time isn't that hard to do. It's only about 7 per day, which is what I'm averaging right now and I'm probably one of the least efficient posters on this forum.
15~20 per day seems tough to me though. I guess it's doable for some people, but I can rarely ever find that many interesting topics.

It just really depends on your posting style and where you post. I usually make the majority of my posts in the "Clubs and Crews" section and I'm mainly a lurker (unless I see a thread that I really like), so naturally my post count won't be as high compared to someone who spends the majority of their time on the "General Forums."

I'm more often posting in th C&C Forums, since the General is filled with useless threads... The result is that I don't get that many posts as clubs and crews tend to get very few posts compared to general forum threads, that is of course... for a set amount of time, because the C&C threads have a much longer life-span.
