As for your question, no, I wouldn't hit a girl no matter what.

I used to think yes.
But now, no. If a girl hit me I would push them away, possibly to the ground. If they did anything worse, such as a kick to the balls or something, I would do more to protect myself.

Short of it being a life and death situation for myself or someone else I care about, then no.

I've been in that situation a few times whilst sticking up for friends of mine (who casually get into drunken cat fights). It's far easier to talk your way out of the situation like a gentleman than egg it on to the point where you have to chose whether to hit a girl or not.

Even then, I'd rather just get a beating than hit a girl.

the only girl i have ever punched is my older sister when we were kids.. i was smaller than her at the time.
But if a girl that i wasn't friends with or going out with straight up punched me in the face i would slap her so hard my hand print wouldn't leave her face for days. punching is different because a fist can break skin and cause sever bruising and even break facial bones. A slap simply hurts a lot and just leaves a red mark. And it kind of satisfies the urge to punch a hole in someone's face.

If the girl that punched me was family, a friend or girlfriend i wouldn't do anything. i can cause a lot more damage with a punch than any girl i know can. So its kind of unfair

Depends entirely on the circumstances. What you did was wrong, but if you were being threatened in any serious way, minimal force is acceptable.
