Okay, Pre-Release 4 came out. I was going to hold off but it's just getting ridiculous at this point.

I'm updating the server to 1.9 pre4. If there are any serious issues, I'll downgrade again, but if you want to check it out, the 1.9 pre4 minecraft.jar is here.

Since every time I mentioned it people were confused about how to get this to work, I'll explain it so easy a monkey could follow. This is assuming you're on Windows, but it's similar for other OSes.

1. Start > Run OR Windows key + R. Type %appdata% and hit enter.
2. If you can see the .minecraft folder, skip this step. If you can't see anything, you're not viewing hidden folders. Win 7 is Organize > folder options > view > show hidden files and folders. It's similar for other versions of windows just find folder options and show hidden stuff.
3. Go into .minecraft, and then bin.
4. Create a folder on your desktop called backup. Drag the minecraft.jar from your appdata folder into it. This is your 1.8 minecraft. Save it just in case. If you decide you want to downgrade later, just toss the old minecraft.jar back into the same place.
5. Drop the new minecraft.jar you downloaded into the exact folder you just took the other one from. Then just run minecraft like you normally would.

Even if you totally failed, you could delete the bin folder and just run Minecraft and it would fix itself.

I don't want to leave people in the dark that want to play 1.9, so hopefully those instructions suffice. Now please excuse me while I go craft some potions of some shit.

1 find a better server host.
2 ask for a copy of the world file from the server host, tell him you are going to use MC edit to build something spectacular. If he asks what, say a massive PvP arena with pistons and redstone and shit.
3 If retarded server host gives you the world file, switch to the other server host.

I am tired of the server crashing every 10 minutes and lagging like hell.

the town you were teleported to seems to be incredibly laggy for some reason.

speaking of towns Tat and me will be kick starting a few themed towns and cities. We are building a desert town and an ocean dock town that will soon be open to white listed players to build in. the basic idea is to stick to the general architectural style of the town and expand it in zones such as agricultural, industrial, commercial, and residential.
It will be cool, so consider checking it out.

By the way, the ocean for the dock city is massive, I haven't found an end, so we have a lot of building room. The desert for the desert village is also very big and there is a large pyramid that will have cool redstone traps in it.

Hey thanks for telling me about /nick. Tat said the server host wasn't agreeing to give you the world file, so I assumed it was a true statement. You should check with tat about multiplay. Donut's server was a multiplay server and from what I remember, they were making stupid errors and bad decisions such as reverting our world back a month when we only wanted it reverted a week.

I also Have some cool Ideas for PvP that I will share soon. One of the Ideas will be called fort battles.
I will explain later.

Minecraft hasn't been keeping my attention well lately, so I've decided to start making mega-projects to complete. I've completed my first one, which is a giant sand castle.

The new ocean dock city has recently become the most popular area on squidbit's server. It is still developing, so if you go there, don't expect a full city. We have recently added a commercial zone dock with two companies that I started (griefer insurance and a real-estate thing) I have appointed some elders: Squidbit, Tateos, and Zabs17. They all contributed to the kick starting of the town.
Some features we already have are: A large wheat farm
bridges where boats can underpass.
a radio station that will eventually play a note block song,
apartment buildings (talk to me for more info),
a commercial zone in which anyone can start up a shop or company,
a mineshaft (there is an abandoned mine in the area)
Some elder buildings.
If you are whitelisted and you would like to come here, the warp is /warp commandplaying. It is an old warp that led to the ocean, there will be an official warp later.
One more kinda sad thing, I have found an end to the ocean, very close to the city. I overlooked it. but who cares, it extends for miles in the other direction.
