That aside do realize that it's probably a good idea to incorporate deep aspects into your music, beyond just being cliche to its genre

I think there's a lot of grey area in that question. Main concern is likely (although this is something steph or darklight needs to comment on) that only YOU are actually making the song. But like as long as you don't see advice as something like "dude use this preset and put in a c-minor arpeggio from c4-c6" I'm sure its not a problem.

Again though, only darklight and steph are running this, we are just helping them critique and decide winners, so thats just a guess from me

Yeah, so for example you can go up to a friend and ask "hear this pwease and tell me if there's something i can fix in it!" but you can't go up to a friend and ask "i started this and you finish it NAO!!!!"

Depends. If he says something like 'make it a multisaw with a lot of attack and a lot of reverb' then OK, but if he explains to you how to make that sound (like, 'open up z3ta+, do this, that, this, turn that knob to 30%, etc') then that's against the rules. There's a difference between someone giving you advice and someone telling you exactly what to do ;).
