Welcome to the NG Audio Deathmatch 2010 thread! Haven't heard of the NGADM? Go here to get all the information you need about this massive contest.

Now to clear some stuff:
This contest is a knockout competition. Starts with 32 participants, ends with one. We had 69 participants audition for this competition, and the 32 best participants have been chosen by 5 different judges: me, Darklight17, brokendeck, LogicalDefiance and Pure-Metal-UTA. YES, THIS MEANS IT IS TOO LATE TO SIGN UP FOR THIS COMPETITION.

Finally, after almost a week of waiting, here are the final 32 participants who will take part in the NGADM.

Note that it's been RIDICULOUSLY hard to choose the participants. So many artists had good qualities in their submissions but the overall song just wasn't enough to make it in. We all took hours to choose the 32 submissions, and it's been exhausting, but we finally have a final decision:

We had a lot of different genres and styles, including Trance, House, Techno, Classical, Hip-Hop, Heavy Metal, Ambient, Drum'n'Bass, Dubstep and Miscellaneous, contrary to the belief of all the submissions being Dubstep :P. We're really satisfied with the quality of submissions this time round, it's going to be one hell of an epic competition!

Remember that you have 2 weeks to make a track, which means on the 30th you'll have to have a track finished, submitted to NG and posted in this thread! To be more exact, you have till the 30th, 1:00 PM EST. There will then be a 5-day judging period where the judges will determine the 16 people who will make it to the next round, and sometime on the 4th of October you should get the results posted in a new thread entitled NGADM Round 1 Results.

Here are all of the deadlines of the NGADM:

Round 1 - 30th September (2 weeks)
Round 1 Judging - 4th October (5 days)
Round 2 - 18th October (2 weeks)
Round 2 Judging - 21st October (4 days)
Round 3 - 4th November (2 weeks)
Round 3 Judging - 7th November (3 days)
Round 4 - 21st November (2 weeks)
Round 4 Judging - 23rd November (2 days)
Round 5 - 7th December (2 weeks)
Judgement Day - 8th December (1 day)

So, a recap: If you're one of the 32 participants, then get a song done before the 30th of September, 1:00 PM EST (NG Time).

Oh, and read these rules...
- No remixes, covers or collabs (working with a singer is permitted).
- No voice acting or experimental noise.
- No flame wars or complaints unless via PM. Suggestions go to the suggestions thread.
- Discussion is allowed, as long as you don't derail the thread to something it isn't.
- Post songs you made during the 2 week period of every round ONLY. (but using small loops/ideas/melodies you made before this competition started is permitted)

Finally, here are the prizes:

1st place:
1.) The option of a frontpage of one of your songs of your choice.
2.) The option to get a detailed review by every judge on 3 songs of your choice.
3.) A 1st place NGADM '10 forum signature.

2nd place:
1.) A 2nd place NGADM '10 forum signature.
2.) The option of a frontpage of one of your songs of your choice.
3.) A handshake.

3rd place:
1.) A 3rd place NGADM '10 forum signature.
2.) The option of a frontpage of one of your songs of your choice.
3.) A thumbs-up.

Don't forget you were up against almost 70 different artists so it's not easy to get into the competition. If you don't make it, it doesn't mean you're bad. I'm not going to lie, I have a few of your songs downloaded :D.

Also in my personal opinion Erroneous Glitch was better than the one you submitted for this competition :P.

Anyway, we might do another one next year if you're interested ^^.

Man this seems like it will be exciting as hell. If you can pull this off properly, you have my utmost respect!! These contests are the best thing to happen to the audio forum in a long time IMO.

When I saw I wasn't in this in school today, I had the biggest frown ever. Then I actually had the same thought as you - host a contest like this solely for the rejects. I don't think it's a half bad idea, I'm sure if we tried we could find some other judges to do something like this, since the judges for the official NGADM will be swamped. Wanna see if you and I could throw something like this together?

Maybe if your deadlines don't clash with the deadlines of this competition, I could have some time to help out with sending PM's or whatever you guys plan on doing :).
