Now that I'm finally home I can get back to work on this. I think I'm up to about 350.Actually, Luis isn't in the top 20 anymore. Check the rankings again and see that AVXAVXAVX has entered the list.
Hopefully I'll knock Luis out of number 10 in a few hours.
Aw, I wanted to knock Luis down.
Anyway.. Every time I sit down to do these, something comes up. But today I should be all clear to work on this, even though I say this, something will surely come up. Haha.
Also, yesterday I was excited to see that some of the "Thats my Fulp" movies didn't have icons. I love that series so much, I imagine thats how the office really is.

I did. I'm sorry.
I think I seen you post and started watching their stuff, and didn't even think about it.
I am really sorry.

Yeah.... It might help if we kept that claimed list on every page just so we all know who has claimed what, even though over the last few weeks I've been going through what I've found from random submissions as well as the lowest ranking games.
Hmm, maybe we all should inform us who is covering what from my spreadsheet if you're taking care of any artists from there.
I made a Greasemonkey script that turns the [flash icons] page into a helpful interface for icon mods.
When you click on the [flash icons] link on any user's web page you will see a list of their flashes without 140x90 icons. It will show the 46x46 icon which you can use as a guide.
If you go on a page that has all its icons done it will provide a link to the Icon Helpers page which I find is useful for finding authors without icons.
And that's about it... Here is a pic:

Holy shit, that's a very nifty tool. Too bad it doesn't work on Opera. :(
Movies/spam junk marked as games.
Games marked as movies.
More of an interactive submission than a movie IMO but if it's OK as a movie under Informative, I have no objections.
Ehhh, I dunno about this one. It gives you an invitation link that you use to give to someone to play with you. I'll see what you think, Tom.
I think I've brought up very similar submissions before but these are all the magic 8 ball function with different photos in the background for each submission.
Disregard my previous comment on the icon mod userscript, it does work on Opera and it's worked like a charm for me. No need to scan through already made icons just to see if there's any blank spots that need to be filled in. The counting with how many icons need to be done for one artist is also a blessing.
Movies marked as games.
I always thought I was pretty good at picking good icons for movies. I didn't make the most of the ones in my profile so thats why they suck. If you guys need help though, I'll make some up.
Galleries and quizes with stolen images:
^The author for the ones above even admits the pictures were used without permission.
^Image gallery of the Simpsons with content that can be found on Google.
^Clips and images of hentai and porn clearly not made by author.
Hentai and porn galleries and quizzes:
Non-Pornographic Google image galleries:
I have to say, I'm really happy we're getting rid of all these hentai flashes. It saddens me to see these get 3.00+ scores even though it takes minimal talent to create and the only thing about them that attracts viewers are the porn images. It's really nice to see Newgrounds becoming more presentable for the upcoming redesign.
Porn Galleries, Quizzes and other simple games:
Found a string of duplicated submissions.
Duplicate as well but the title claims it was revised. I watched it and didn't notice any differences, so if there are any they are very small.
And yes I am a new icon mod. :D

Today marks the 1st anniversary of the icon mod crew. The top 20 alone have covered at least 37,000 submissions within that one year. I assume the rest of the contributors add up to make it 40k. Still, that's a shitload of icons ready for the redesign. Here's hoping we can get even more help this Summer.

I was wondering when you became an icon mod. I thought to myself "Since when has Hemlok been an icon mod?" Welcome to the team! :D

Not sure how I can check how many I have submitted but I'm sure I'm at around 25-40. Hey I've been a mod for about two days that isn't that bad!

Glad to be here!
I think I might have jumped the gun before my first post. Finished up the icons for shinobiclock's flashes and noticed a couple more.
Revised with subtitles and a longer ending.
Revised with a retro cinema background and a slightly longer ending.

I like joke games, does that make me a bad person?
Also, could I be added to the Genre mods please, there are a few things that I see around that haven't been updated, some flash in my favourites and some from guys I worked with who have since left, unless you just want me to list them all :p
Dont know what to do with this guy
also these are... needing to be looked at?

Porn flashes, games and galleries:
Checked the authors of the previous list and gathered up the remainders.
It's sad that most of them don't have any flashes left on their profile.
Out of curiosity, Tom, do you want ALL pornographic games blammed or just the half-assed ones?
I have seen some of these have actual effort where you genuinely play a game before getting any pictures (like Weisi's "Frank's Adventure" series for example) and I'm definitely not talking about quiz games, limited dress ups or simple RPG's with dirty pictures in every scene. Those ones are without a doubt facing termination.
I can see that Newgrounds for a long time has been changing from an angsty teen's underground flash website crawling with porn ads into a professional entertainment website aimed to bring artists together and I see that we all are striving to make the next redesign as presentable as possible from making icons and genres to seeking out and terminating certain flashes. It's definitely going to lessen the amount of people telling me that Newgrounds is full of porn and viruses based on the content and advertisement experiences back in the early years.
So what do you think?
Also, more porno flashes, games and galleries:

I think it's the ones that contain stolen images, well made or not.

There's also the issue with cookie cutter games on this website that also happen to use pornographic images to attract viewers. Tom himself has asked the user base if it would be a good idea or not to set a cookie cutter game apocalypse in order to promote more originality. Since most of the porn flashes are quiz games I guess this can qualify for deletion.
I'm just wondering how far we'll go in order to get this site going on a grand opening. Personally I see this as a major change in direction Newgrounds is heading to.
I'd like to think that people enjoy them better when the author has put the work in themselves, having never bothed to play any of these games, I don't know the quality of them so I'll take your word on them mostly being quizes.
Are there really that many adult games that would make a huge shift in the user base?

It may or may not shift the user base but there are shit loads of adult games around and with many more already deleted before I went on this flash inquisition.
It's my understanding that Tom wants this website to be cleaned up as much as possible especially since one of that major features of the redesign is a more advanced flash search system and I doubt serious authors would want that feature overrunned with half-assed quizzes all over the place.
But then again, I don't have precise knowledge on the nature of the new feature so it may or may not help. We'll just have to wait and see where we're heading to and continue our preparations for the redesign.
RIght now I've been keeping the focus on half-assed / galleries / quiz games and submissions that use photographic nudes. To FULLY enforce things would require going after Frank's Adventure but those games have a real charm and humor that make them feel like part of NG's history... I would actually be tempted to have a contest where artists on the site can make new art for those games, just to make them 100% legit.
I've been thinking I need to make a BIG post about all this stuff because it's been on my mind a lot this year and I know the rules keep changing as I build up more and more resolve to make changes. A few months ago I wouldn't have thought we would have gone THIS FAR with deleting as much as we have, but having done so it feels pretty damn good so it makes me want to keep moving with it.
I hate it that so much amazing stuff has come from NG and there are still people out there who refer to it as a porn site. I've always seen it as a site that encourages freedom and denounces censorship, a site that is willing to get dropped by just about every advertiser on the planet for the sake of giving people a place to fully express themselves. My theory has always been, "If your friend says it's a porn site, it's because he found it while searching for porn." NG regulars aren't the ones looking for Pokemon Hentai, Google users are and in the past those searches returned some quiz game on NG.
Re-skinned assembly line games and hentai quiz games are both just cheap ploys for traffic and not the work of serious members of the community, so I don't feel like we're making a huge compromise by removing them. I'm hesitant to delete too much all at once because I don't want to shock the system too hard, but so far I've been feeling good about our progress. We could look into some of the higher quality offenders and at least make note of them for long-term consideration. Ultimately, removing the submissions that weren't hand-drawn by the community will leave more exposure for the ones that were, and maybe updating some "classics" could be an opportunity for artists here on NG.
I do like the sound of this. I've always had a bitter taste towards hentai/porn submissions that users only took pictures from the internet. Even if my flashes were crap, I at least tried to do something that I wanted to make rather than making an effortless hentai gallery. I'm sure many users felt like they were cheated on when their flashes only got a few hundred views while these submissions got tens of thousands of views. I'm happy with the approach NG has taken here. Of course, I haven't gone after games like Frank's Adventure since I've left adult submissions that are hand-drawn by the authors.
