When it comes to Kingdom Hearts May Cry, I'm tempted to just delete them, but it does bring up a long-standing question.... In general I would prefer not to see any new "dub" submissions, but there are some classics such as Knox's Matrix Dub and Tomamoto's Avatar dub. I imagine we'll just keep letting these slide to preserve that part of NG's history, although I should make sure the future terms better reflect a policy of not doing that sort of thing. Even recently someone submitted a funny dub of the old Spiderman cartoon and we really enjoyed it during the broadcast - it's tough when stuff like that was more acceptable pre-YouTube, but now that we're focusing on a more specific tone for NG, it doesn't fit in as well, despite being entertaining. Any overall thoughts on that stuff?

Yeah, I was surprised you let the Spiderdub movie slide, even if it was funny as hell. Maybe the best solution is to take down submissions of such kind if you get a notice from any big companies. Hopefully no-one goes to the step of suing you right away just because they saw copyrighted footage of Harry Potter on one dub submission here. It is a tough decision when there are such classics such as Knox's dubs in the portal.
When it comes to copyrighted material, I'm more concerned about WMG or any major record companies going after submissions here just because someone made a music video for a Beatles song. Animators have shown great visionaries with songs they've used with their animations and it would suck if all that effort went down the drain. Maybe you can protect them by saying you didn't place new policies until last year but copyright laws are always tricky to me.
DMCA offers some protection as long as you remove a piece of content after being given notice, but as usual I would prefer that people just stop looking to commercial music when making stuff, especially when there are so many great musicians on the Audio Portal who could use the spotlight. It's especially annoying when people organize entire collabs around commercial songs. I think there's less of that going on lately, gotta just keep reminding people.

Could you not exploit PBot or one of your Admin powers to sort of send every user a PM - asking them to look into the Audio Portal more for this one occasion. Then everybody would get the message - not everybody reads the news posts all the time is all.
