Keeps refusing to let me in, and then boots me if I'm inactive for more than 30 seconds if it does decide to let me in. I don't know what's up with it either, it's annoying as hell.

Oof. Dunno. We could try another chat service or something if you like. I'd try clearing my cache and cookies if I were you though, just in case it's a bug that's been resolved.
