Now i will say something for once that i seriously mean. The game was not at all entertaining to me and is perhaps the most overrated game of all time.

it was an amazin game but (of course) the graphics sucked a better looking game would be great but... you know what is underrated and is like one of the best games EVARRRRRRRR, goldensun 1&2 we need another like it for wii or ds or sumthin

Yeah, but do any consoles include that these days? Plus I bought 5 HDMI cables for $.02 each on Amazon, so no skin off my nose.
Some games can stay the way they are without being remade or changed. For example, people are still playing Counter-Strike, even though it looks ancient by today's standards. Why remake a game when so many are still happy with the original. Of course ANY game would be good with updated graphics, but some don't need it.

i am surprized everyone says it is over rated. I never thought it was pushed that much. It was an alright game. Well for me anyways. It was the only final fantasy story i could really get into. I havent been able to play the knew ones because they all seem dumb to me. I hope they remake i would buy a PS3 just for it but yeah its never going to happen Sony has to keep up with XBOX and the Wii remember? Its not about what fanboys want its about the best way to make money. Instead of a good game getting remade we get to be raped with movie games. Just our luck.

The only reason people say its overrated is because its a popular installment in the series. If you don't like it, no one is making you play it, so stop bitching and complaining about how its a bad game, and overrated.
I don't think they'll remake it, maybe a spinoff of it but eh. I honestly wouldn't rebuy it, its the best in the series imho, but not worth paying for it again

As far as I know, JRPGs contain little to no roleplaying. They're as much of roleplaying games as something like halo or god of war.
And by whatever God that may possibly exist, yes it was overrated and yes it is overplayed.
It's quite possible. They have been making remakes of all of the older Final Fantasy series on the handheld systems so they might bring it back. Not to mention that there are a lot of fans for it so it might be a profitable idea for Square Enix to remake it.

Remake IX, it's letdown was mainly the graphics. Or VIII, with more GFs and spells. Or we could go right back and say II, which had a lot of potential, but was fucking annoying to play because it was under developed.
In short; VII has been done to death, the only thing keeping it alive right now is Sephiroth, and he is getting old to. They have some other fantastic titles!

The only good thing Square Enix has done recently is the Sa Ga 2 (named FF Legends 2 on GB) remake on DS, and it's only in Japan.
Of course they will. There's potentially a lot of money in the market of remaking it if they do it right. They'd have to be financially retarded not to.

What's wrong with the materia system? I thought it was fine. And of course they'll remake it, they're a business after all. Businesses want to make money. If they can make money by remaking FF7 (which they will) they'll do it.

The only JRPG's I'm aware of that include any dramatic role-playing, are some of the Tales games. Final Fantasy VI also rapes VII up the ass.

You're a blind fanboy, FFVII had a terrible materia system, very cliché story and characters and was little to no fun. They only really amazing part is when Airith died.
Final Fantasy IX should have got all the attention, not FF7.
