yea.. i tried a top 20 VP list one time i think.. it took me forever to make it... gfox must be very organized though.

I should think so, yes. Of course, if you're a General with 4500 till EGSC and you're getting 25 b/p a day, that's not going to get you any VP for a very very long time. But at the b/p rank you're at, 25 a day will probably be enough to maintain or move up a bit.

No kidding it's hard! That's why it's worth doing. Newgrundling did several updates with me around 110-120, and that was in June of 2003, so... I know the pains of being near 100 but not quite there yet. Just keep on b/ping and BAM, you're in the top 100.

Or, if it's frustratingly close... try concentrating on something else instead. For instance, you're near 9.00 VP. So try thinking about getting to that instead of getting into the top 100. The only person who can prevent you from hitting 9.00, for one thing, is yourself (well, and technically humantarget could assist).... whereas lots of people could rankup around #100, thus keeping you from entering the top 100. You have no control over that.

hahah. The short updates of this list don't take that much time, guys. Like I said, 1.5 hours maybe. The longer updates might take 2 to 3 hours or more, though. And that's why I do them only once every 2 months or so, and that's also why I'm not going down to 6.00 VP anymore, with so many people getting above that mark as to make it insane to even THINK about continuing with that mark...

Anyway, as for having different stat lists... not really anymore, joobie.

In May 2003 I started posting the top 50 saves on the BBS, that made one list.
In July 2003 I started posting the top 50 blams as well, that made two lists.
In September 2003 I started posting the response ratio list, that made 3 (but really 2.5, timewise).
In November 2003 I started the quadlist (at the time it was only a triplelist, though), and that made 3.5.
In December 2003 NGling said I could continue the VP list, and boom, I'm up to 4.5.

Now, it was around the time that I was taking on two more big lists (the quadlist and the VP list, towards the end of 2003), that I stopped doing the top 50 saves list and blams list very often. In fact, before around thanksgiving 2003, my average time between updates of those two top 50s was probably around 5 days. After thanksgiving, my average time in between updates (up to and including the last four updates in March, April, May, and July, none in June)... was around 20 days, probably. So, IOW, some of my lists were suffering.

After I hit EGSC in March 2004, I stopped having some motivation with regard to some things on NG, and it didn't help that I was busy in late April, leading to me not coming to the BBS much for the next month or so. As a result, I stopped doing the response list (see jon's review topic, page 66, for more of a history lesson on that #;-}>)... that's down to 4.

And last week, I stopped doing the two top 50 lists, turning them over to Dogma to do more efficiently than I ever could.

So:

In April 2004 I stopped doing the response list.
In July 2004 I stopped doing the top 50 saves list.
In July 2004 I stopped doing the top 50 blams list.

And viola, I'm down from 4.5 lists to just 2 lists.

And now I can give this VP list and my Quadlist all the attention they deserve. The VP list will continue to be done the most often, and I will change the requirements for getting into the smaller and larger updates to ensure it remains doable and thus gets updated often enough.... and the Quadlist is going to be undergoing even more changes, with a split of blams and saves into two columns and lots more fun with people getting double10Ked and triple10Ked... possibly even quad10Ked (though a quint10K is very unlikely given the lack of reviews by most people on the list).

ohh thats good. Even though HT made my vp go back down to 8.44 when it was 8.45. But once i become two star it should push me up a little higher.

I've actually been displayed as 11.00 VP for two days now, but I wasn't technically ahead of HT's VP until today (it was rounding UP to 11.00 the past two days, today I'm truly ahead of 11.00). Speaking of which, I said I needed "11.01" to make sure I was ahead of HT.. I meant 11.001. Silly me.

I reckon it's going to be awhile 'fore I pass anyone again, though if UND doesn't do any ranking up in the next month, I should move up from #21 to the top 20 unless someone passes me from behind (which is coming whether I like it or not... damned EGSC rankups due to several people fairly soon... grrrr....).

Anyway.... that said, you're certainly free to do what you want. Why don't you just say, though, that you're taking a vacation from NG now, and you don't know how long it will be for. Could be a few months... could be a few years... could be forever. Eh?

As for your account... no inactive account in the history of NG, AFAIK, has been deleted. Only review and BBS spammers get deleted. Oh, and people who steal flash multiple times or do shit like that. NG isn't in desperate need of harddrive space. There are tons of accounts from 1999 and 2000 that NEVER get used anymore, and they're still there (profiles are still there, nothing's changed... if they logged in, I'm sure everything would be fine. Cept their VP would have dropped if they were level 9 or over).

So... I don't think you need to worry about your account being deleted. Your VP of almost 7 is going to drop without voting, though.

And so let me warn you that I won't be voting for your account every day if you hand it over to me, I already vote for my own account and two of my alts and I have several other sites that I deposit on or do the same basic daily thing as depositing on, so I waste enough time with all of that already.

If you just want me to look after your account and keep the password safe, however, that I can do. Let me know what you want to do.

hes currently at the police lieutenant... he just got only to the 500 difference between ranks.
So yeah, he definately has a lot of "easy" rank ups to do.
