Nice.. i really moved up on the list This update :)
Yeah, like I said in the comments at the start, congrats to you on the major move due to your EGSC, and obviously... congrats on the rankup itself. You and I really moved up the list this update. #;-}> I was right behind you for a week, BTW, but that obviously didn't last too long! Ah well, once I get to EGSC, I'll be back up there behind ya.
Great job on the list.
thanks!

Looks like me and Sturmpanzerwagen are still solidly glued together even after all these months. Seems like only yesterday we were talking about how he was just 0.01 VP higher than me, but now, it looks like we're even. He's climbing fast though. I better watch my back.
heh. Yep. Incidentally, the 120s range is where I was first on this list, back when NGling first started the top 160 VP listings back in May or so, last year. So, welcome to where gfoxcook was not too long ago. You've got heady heights ahead if you keep moving up the top 50 b/p list. #;-}>
Anyways, loving the new lists. Almost seems like we're overrun with them, but it's all good. Just as long as I'm not doing the work.
Thanks.
By the way, this is probably a stupid question, but how do you determine who's on top of whom when two or more people appear to have the same Voting Power? Do you just find the next few decimal places? If so, how?
I COULD calculate their VP with NGling's equations (this is something I often do to find out if I'm ahead or behind someone when I'm at the same VP as them). But while I could do this with excel by putting in HT's current exp and have a new column devoted to calculating their REAL VP... I'd have to keep track of everyone's exp and b/p rank.
And keeping track of 582 people's VP is bad enough already. Adding exp and b/p rank to the mix would be insane, so no thanks.
I just let excel sort the list. Whoever was higher last update is going to be higher this one, if they're tied with someone who came up from below. Might not be exact, but it's good enough. For obvious cases of someone falling and someone rising in the top 100, perhaps, I'll add a 0.001 to the VP of the person who should be ahead or subtract 0.001 to someone who should be behind before I sort the list by VP. A good example of a case when I did this is:
011.) 11.07 +0.17 -YoinK- +5
012.) 11.07 UNCH. innphernoe -1
013.) 11.07 -0.04 agent66 -3
even though it only displays 11.07 for all three people, I actually put in 11.069 for agent66, which rounded up to 11.07. This ensured that Yoink and innphernoe (two people who're actually depositing and using NG somewhat, at least) didn't have to wait until next update to pass agent66. Agent hasn't done anything on NG for about 8 months, so... there ya go.
But in general, like I said, it's all due to the way the list was the previous update.
A 11
B 10
C 09
D 08
E 07
becomes
A 11
B 09
C 09
D 09
E 07
even if D or C should be above B, technically. Unless, like I said, I know someone's dormant, like agent66, and then I'll make sure the active people are higher.
Whew. There ya go.
