Thought id finally swing by
Im not punk as often as im hippie but I have my punk moments
Sublime had some punk moments but are far from a shitty regga band....Ive been listening to them consistanly since i was 12...im 25 now so thats gotta mean something.
My punk choices are

Not in a specific order

NOFX - Rancid - Misfits - Billy Idol - Older Green Day - B-side Nirvana sets - New Ground Glory(dont even say it i know all ready but is just like em and i dont know why) - Anti Flag - Black Label Society - Suicidal Tendencies - Bar Religion - Broadview Gutters(local Cleveland) - Strutting Cocks(local Cleveland) - KMFDM - LA Guns - MSI - Old NO Doubt - OpIvy - the Ramones - The Sex Pistols - SEV - REALLY Old Sugar Ray

Haha, if it were Black Flag that would make a hell of a lot more sense, gotta love Rollins.

I wasn't so much trying to argue or insult anybody so much as simply point out a fact. I'm done now, but I would like to say that it takes a little heated debate once in awhile to keep a club running, otherwise you run out of things to say.

I definitely agree with you there, but I could tell it was going to get out of hand... I would never really consider Sublime to be a punk band, but reggae or alternative, yes.
Bradley was a great vocalist though, but I don't think he would have made for a good punk vocalist either... And of course, all the good vocalists are heroin addicts, (Kurt, Sid, Bradley)

Are you saying herion makes people a good musician? Herion destroyed the Sex Pistols.

That's not what I am saying seeing as my favorite band in the world was ruined because of a heroin addiction, if Kurt had not become a heroin addict, his depression would have not been so bad, which means he may not have committed suicide, as heroin is a depressant.

A few years ago I went to a music festival with a lot of thrash metal, crossover metal, hard rock and punk bands...

Anyway the very first band that played was a punk band with obvious metal influences.

Instrumentally - It was a ton of bunch of punk rifts and such, only it was WAY more metal than they'd normally be for the average punk band.

Lyrically - Classic punk + rebellious lyrics only slightly sexually charged.

Vocally - It was a female singer, she had a voice similar to like Brittany Spears or so but better.

The band was a drummer, bassist and two guitarists. All men that all looked like they were in their 30's.

The singer was a girl, I have a picture left from the show a long time ago(As seen below)

Anyone have any idea what band this is? I liked them a lot but I can't remember the name.

Thanks in advance.

"However, many fatalities reported as overdoses are probably caused by interactions with other depressant drugs Notice how it says other depressant drugs, meaning heroin itself is a depressant.
Got the quote from wikipedia.

Where was this? That looks a lot like a girl from a band I've helped out before here in town. Their name is Burning Season. Although they don't really play the type of music you talked about.

No. Heroin is an opiate as its derived of the opium poppy plant. It's the same family as opium and morphine.

It acts as a depressant as it physically depresses bodily functions.

No, that's not it I just checked on myspace and whatnot.

Um it was at the palladium in Worcester Mass.

I remebered some more things:
1.) The girl said they were going to be releasing a 3rd album(At the time)
2.) Show was in 2006.
3.) The girl singer's first name is "America" legit.
4.) I have many more pics. :D

I never knew that the Exploited were so well known. They are based in Edinburgh, Scotland which is like an hour away from where I live. I've always been a fan of them. I went to see them live and I also met Wattie at another gig. I've been listening to their Singles Collection recently which has a lot of their older classics. The Massacre is also a great album.

Man so many people know of them, they're probably up there with my favorite bands.
I would kill to see them some time man.

It was just a question. Im sorry I don't care about bands like NOFX and Rancid. I was wondering if this club could be expanded into the type of punk bands I listen to.
I haven't been a great contributor to the discussion because I don't like the bands being discussed. So I wanted to know if there are people that have more my musical tastes.

Not the kind of punk I listen to, but that would definitely classify as a sub-genre.

Dance punk, maybe?
