HAQnSPITT, who similarly never stopped gaining points... but just didn't get 'em fast enough in the end.

DANGER ZONE:

HeRetiK will probably be next to go, and if he's not careful, PZY will soon join him. bmxgamer and Mystboy and Impetus and Syme and Newgrundling are all in danger as well, but I expect KWAS71KCK to continue his upward progress since joining last time. So, the potential bumpers of those people are: _Newt (who passed staphita along with all the other new people and was a mere 30 saves behind Seraphius and 86 behind HeRetiK but was unable to get past either of them this time), nimmer, Overtired, TimScheff, and HernetheHunter (who'd be making his third saves list appearance, I believe). Good luck to all, but I expect some movement on the bottom of this list, so... a preemptive farewell to HeRetiK and PZY and some of the others is in order. ;_;

Greg's Notes:

29 rankups this time, compared to 44 and 6 and 21 and 13 and 8 and 14 and 7 and 11 and 16 and 6 and 7 and 7 the last twelve times (total of 189 for the protectors list!). 26 are on both lists, the other 3 are only on this list.

We're up from 10 people not doublelisted to 12 people now. It would have been only 11, but _Newt wasn't able to doublelist today.

As you might have noticed, I only bothered to note the rank-at-the-time-of-ranking-up for Brigadier Generals and above this update. Additionally, I feel that this may be the next to last update of these two lists. I've been maintaining this one for over 14 months now, and the other for about 10 months, and the entire purpose of this list, in the beginning, was for me to see my save rank compared to my overall b/p rank and enjoy my nice save/blam ratio compared to many of the people ahead of me on the top 50 combined. Clearly that purpose is nearly done. While I'm ranked #2 here and #5 on the blam list (and #3 overall) as I was last time, and thus there still IS a disparity... by the next time I update this list, I probably will be ahead of fixit (assuming he doesn't restart getting points). When and if that happens, that will probably be the last update of this list. I know a lot of people are hoping to be on it at some point, most noteably jonthomson (who has been working towards both of my lists for so very long now). I may end up delaying it for additional reasons like that, but... needless to say, these two lists take more time and effort and energy and drain me more than my Quadlist or VP list... and thus I can't continue them for much longer. If Dogma (who could certainly easily do these lists along with the main EG list) wishes to take them over, either in their threads or in the B/P ranks 51+ thread, that would be fine by me. Otherwise, everyone will have to bug liljim for official top 50 saves and top 50 blams lists. #;-}>

I was actually thinking of that as I read that paragraph. This list has had a long and healthy run, top blam right behind it, but it doesn't correlate to any of the other stats you are tracking. The VP list is a monster all by itself ... I can't imagine doing it and any other list that didn't have anything to do with VP. If/when you put them to bed, I would be honored to pick them up =)

The long intros you still write are long gone for me, so those likely won't continue after you ... including that "rank-at-the-time-of-ranking-up" you always do that I've never kept track of lol I've gotten comfortable posting at the site, so these would likely move over there as well. Everything else about their move would just be logistics.

I figured you would have known you were going to drop off when you went "yay!" to Dogma's posting of the miniupdate, where you were #52. Did you expect to get back up to #50 sometime this week? O_o with saves so scarce, it'll take a bit more time than that.

Heh. Well, you're the natural choice. Of course, if you don't want to take the time to do it... and someone else who doesn't have a list wanted to take it, that'd be fine, too. But no one would be as well-prepared as you are to take over, so there ya go.

And yep, VP list + Quadlist is a burden enough. Doing these four lists since January has been quite the pain, and I'm sure that most people who read my whining about them knew this was coming sooner or later.

Of course, they might have guessed that I'd be dropping the Quadlist or finding a new person to do the VP list instead of me dropping my two original and most beloved lists, but... if they paid attention to me saying these are the hardest the way I do them currently, that woulda been a hint. I hope I don't disappoint anyone too badly, but I'm sure the news of your ability to take the torch later on will cheer them up. #;-}>

Well, really... you already write your own intros for the EG list, and these lists would be an obvious extension of that process, since you'd have the fresh data. No point running them separately. Now, I'm not saying to put them on the same html file or anything, but you could have a link from the notes you write for the EG list that takes people to the top 50 (or 100, if you wanted to bring that back... though then the blank spots become a bigger hassle) blams or top 50 saves list directly, where you could do whatever you wanted with the formatting (no need to keep the save-2-blam or blam-2-save %s unless you really want to, as well. And yeah, of course the #th at that rank isn't a necessary stat either. Hell, I just dropped it from everyone but Generals, if you didn't notice. #;-}>

Meaning you have no hope of being able to get many saves? Well, maybe so. But saves stick around on the portal longer than blams do. Even if you just check the portal for 5 minute periods throughout the day when you can, you can get plenty of saves if you vote well.
