This song was not born of error. *shocked gasp of crowd* This song was actually born of inspiration. I was watching...something (probably a fantasy movie, knowing me) and thought that the track they were using for that particular scene didn't fit (I wish I could remember what movie this was). So then, I started concocting something more fitting in my head...then it spiraled out of control. I started with basic chords, then added some dissonance. Then I grabbed the harp piano tone and added a simple melody to the chords at the end. Then I started screwing around on Google Translate (if anybody knows of a more accurate service than GT, I would love to know about it) and added that in slightly weird whispering. It's pretty odd to sit in a room alone and whisper random phrases in different languages to your mic, but I did it anyway. This is the result of all of that. A song that sounds like there are spirits everywhere you look. (Am I the only one who pictures a bunch of fireflies when someone mentions 'spirits'?) The looped and echoed whispering is in English (center), Italian (left) and Latin (right), and according to GT, they all basically say the same thing; Lost to the void, unable to return...songs cannot convey this lonely existence.
So, yeah...I had a lot to say about this one. Rate, critique, catch some fireflies in a jar, laugh at me...whatever pleases you.
