the screen should be a bit bigger also i opened up my map and closed out quickly and then the character just disappeared

Try enabling fullscreen from right-click menu. And I never encountered that bug, weird.
More of an interactive nostalgia trip than an actual game, but for what it is I like it
The gameplay sucks and the way it is demotivates me to keep playing, I'd suggest adding more sound effects and some better music, give gameplay more priority as well.
Ambience and environment is good, gameplay and user experience is non existence. I like the idea of including a game system as a part of the UI, but it takes more from the experience than it adds as it is. Personally i think this game needs more grappling hooks and sex scenes.
