Reviews for "SLICE O' DEATH (Pilot Episode)"

I love everything about this masterpiece! Voice acting needs a little bit of work, but even that isn't enough for me to vote less. Excellent work!

Thank you so much! And yes, there are many flaws given that it was made on a $0 budget and had friends lend some help. But nonetheless, I'm very happy with how this came out and I'm glad I can show off the idea!

This is actually pretty sick

Alrighty, simply put: this is amazing.
Now for my unnecessary essay that no one will read. I really love the concept, honestly compared to most zombie movies, where while yes, there’s a lot of good ones, most of the characters are just emo, which while not entirely inaccurate, I have been needing to see one with characters that, honestly, while realizing that they can obviously die from it, seem to just sorta have fun killing zombies. I love how the characters interact with each other, and kind of just what they are; the emo goth, the “fuck you” friend, the loud but somewhat cool friend, the “they TOTALLY have never murdered someone before” boss, the super intelligent gamer that’s like 11, and finally, last but not least, the “I’m blind, I’m wise, I’m cool, and I’m black” character that I see in quite a few other places, but I honestly love that character trope so fuck it. (Also correct me if I’m wrong about her being blind)
Now, for some faults I have (don’t worry, it’s not much). My biggest gripe here is just that some of the VA’s voices are hushed, best example of this is 4 minutes in when... I’m guessing Arzhul (since they never explicitly state who’s who in the movie and I’m too lazy to look up the VAs by myself right now, apologies)? Says “ready to rock”, the VA tries to make it sound loud but it’s in that “whisper screaming” voice. I understand why, maybe they just didn’t have any of those noise absorbing things, and, well this stuff costs a lot, and I get the feeling that a lot of the VAs at least aren’t very experienced (not that there’s anything wrong with that. Also, again, too lazy to fact check, could just be me being stupid). There are other things I wanna mention, but it’s 1:47 in the morning for me right now and I should be sleeping. For now, I will just say, despite its flaws, everyone who worked on this has done an amazing job.

You pretty much got it down for the most part! And yes, this was made on a $0 budget with the help of some friends of mine over the span of only 11 months, so not very professional, haha. This was more of a concept pilot that we had a lot of fun working on, so I'm very happy that it shows! :D

Pretty neat stuff.

Finally something that fits everything I want from mature animated series.
