Reviews for "Deterministic Dungeon"

my game froze up while i was fighting bob the marble level boss but otherwise fun

PestoForce responds:

Hopefully a refresh got you back into things!

I have to agree with Horsenwelles, I've been playing this with a friend for the past few hours and I have 1 miss rate and I swear it lands on it at least 60-70% of the time but no not just me, my friends and the guy below this comment also. Something is not right here... it's like it goes from 2 -> 0 -> 7 -> 0 -> 3 -> 0 or some shit like that. There's no way I should be missing this often even when I time it perfectly somehow I'd get 0 4 times in a row.

Fun game nontheless but the 'self RNG' isn't so self rng.

It really is not rigged, but "target fixation" is a real mental thing that happens with humans. If you play with your eyes closed you're likely to get a much more even distribution. It sounds weird, but it really is your own doing - there's nothing rigged with the system I swear!

- never code any effect to flash the screen it's annoying and painful to the eyes!
- it starts to lose its charm midway, it should be shorter
- the totem that slows down selection changes difficulty a lot
- I never really understood what's the point of any other weapon other than the one with highest numbers, for example the Katana, the Scythe, ok the wand gives a slight boost to magic but magic is not effective until late game and that's for healing and using lighting
- trading equipment you dont need is a bit shallow, I kinda expected some sort of currency system
- i disliked my character's appearance (the purple robe guy) but that's just part of the random element I guess

A bit too simplistic but a good game overall.

Thanks for the review!

I like it, but it's far from perfect. Scrolls, like the self buffs and healing, need to be usable outside of battle and enemies scale too fast. I'm stuck on the second set of levels as the enemies can now do 5, 6 points of damage per shot but even after 12 levels I can only do at most 6-7, not enough to carry myself through the 3rd set. Needs some balancing and some more variety and it would push this game from good to great.

The flashing should be toned down a bit. My eyes started to hurt after a bit.

Good game overall
