Reviews for "Dream Hopper"

Nice metroidvania, but very short :(

this is cool, but as some of the previous reviews mention, there are some issues. i think some of the platforming needs a little bit of editing, and that sometimes the controls are unresponsive in strange ways. i got too frustrated at the heavenly tower, because the lighting guy is basically impossible to get past without just jumping on him and willingly taking damage, and then the platforming with the jellyfish in the narrow passage just above is simply way too difficult to maneuver. you need to widen the passable area next to the jellyfish, as well as making the cloud guy attack less often. i didn't get past that part despite the game seeming really cool and having good music and art.

awesome fist f all second loved the mechanics didn't like not having them both though, also a strong story would have been nice but holy shit that sound track made it all worth it

The controls *barely* work. Sometimes he doesnt move, sometimes he doesnt jump, sometimes he cant move while jumping... Please fix the horrible buggy controls then I will come back and try again.

Well this is a cool game.
The main character is very charming, I gotta say.

The charging shot makes everything slow down around you, as if in bullet time. That's pretty neat, it's got a cool feel and you can time your shots precisely. THe only downside is waiting a long time for your for to come into range, but that's all on the shoulders of the player's timing, so no big.

I feel a very noticeable delay: when you land, you have a moment where you cannot jump or move. It takes some getting used to, but I THINK it was intentional by the programmer? To give you a feeling of impact and... Well, I THINK the main character is a frog or toad, maybe, so some sort of sticky landing kinda makes sense. It's annoying, but I think it's just there to make you think about your jumps instead of go willy-nilly.

I played twice, and found a hidden chamber on the second go.
