Reviews for "Spellsword"

not bad, not bad at all. :3
reminds me of the old final fantasy games, minus the battle sequences. :P
I like where this is going - with that being said I have donated $10 to you. good luck. :D
make this a classic!

about the game: I like the clear, colorful graphics. the storyline is interesting. ease of controls is a must and u nailed it. :) good job

Hyptosis responds:

Thank you so much! I'm keeping a list of the donors too to send goodies too in the future. I very much appreciate it, and will hopefully have some screenshots of the battle system in the next week. I'm touched.

Broken. Tried to interact and was given vertices and framerate info. Could not do anything else afterwards.

Better than Final Fantasy XIII

this has got to be by far, the biggest waste of time i've ever played. all you're doing are talking to people, and picking up items on the ground. you've not given any semblance of what the battle system will be like, nor any idea of what will happen in the game, rather than the fact that "she has to go and help some town with something"

and yet, with as little of a "game" you've actually shown us, you're asking us to GIVE YOU MONEY so that you can expand on it? we'd literally be going in blind, with no idea of gameplay, story, or interface, all of which constitute what makes a GAME. that just seems stupid, and greedy.

For something clearly made with RPGMaker, this seems pretty weak. I'm no stranger to the software, and I can say that this seems like it was made over the course of a weekend. If you want people to donate to make this an actual game, here is my advice:
Abandon RPGMaker. There is way better ways to make a game.
Don't be afraid of spending a few weeks developing the story and dialogue. RPGs are all about the story, and this lacked almost all sense of introduction and seemed rushed and needlessly hurried forward without details.
Find a good hook for your game, something that makes it stand out, even if only a little. Having the same old tired mechanics won't get anyone to play it, even if the story is new-ish.
