Reviews for "The Weight"

cute movie. The music went well with it and visually it looked great. The bluish palette worked well i thought for the context of the film. The story is a little weak as you've mentioned. It does seem like a stretch even for me to become attached to the characters in such a short time, and particularly for such a heavy subject. I think you do a good job in the last part though to really pull things together. Felt a little all over the place in the beginning. So yeah i do think youre getting better at finishing strong. I remember last year that being something that bugged me about some of your entries.

I like that you revisited and do bother exploring these themes. I find your work refreshing alot of the times and I think your approach of not editing the original was a good one and you should be proud of this submission in itself.

I dont know if you NEEED a more detailed story next time, it wouldnt hurt i guess but i think for a film this length you definately need to be very picky and careful of including parts that are really strong and develop empathy at its highest potential. Kinda like in design, when the simplest things are usually the hardest to pull off because you have such little room to work with.

this was heart breaking and very emotional im not usualy the sappy type but this was pretty deep i liked it alot id love to see another
the music fit perfect with the movie and the concept is strong and very well put together
i think you sold yourself short in this creation its both complete and lasting
very good work keep it up!

Man don't count yourself short. This is pretty damn good. The animation is solid and the story is sad, but at the same time very uplifting. However, without reading your description it's quite difficult to understand what happens with the second call and that part of the story is never given a set up. Was the first call a prophetic dream? Or did he go back in time? Anyway that doesn't really matter since the emotion comes through plain as day, which brought a tear to my eye. Good job dude, hope to see more in the future.

that made me wanna cry! great job

I have to say this is really good and I did get the message of the video, anyway good work.
