Reviews for "Wilt: Exordium"

Maybe too quick but really really good !

Asvegren responds:

Thank you! The main game will be much longer.

I thought this was going to be bogus based on the reviews, but I thought it was atmospherically beautiful and generally well constructed. I didn't seem to have as much of an issue with the controls as others, but they were definitely a little slippery from time to time.

I thought it was an easy 4, and I'm looking forward to playing a bigger version.

My only complaint was the boss. It was a little lame having to do the same thing over and over again... Perhaps a couple more "forms" would have been less monotonous.

This is a very fun game, but as several people have already stated, the controls take away from my enjoyment. I would prefer if up was jump, and space was shoot/grenade. Or, if A and S were gun and grenade, to prevent accidentally throwing grenades at myself. Also, I would prefer if I could hold the "shoot" button to fire at maximum speed, instead of mashing it over and over as fast as I can (my wrist is actually sore from the boss). Controls aside, I really enjoyed this, the music is a good fit and the challenge level built at a good pace. I only had one glitch, the first time I played the boss level, the second set of small ghosts froze my movement, so I couldn't dodge at all. And even though I somehow survived those, when the big ghost returned, I was still frozen in place so he just bombed me every time he flew over. The glitch never happened again, though. Overall, a great game, 5/5 is you adjust the controls. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to seeing the rest of the adventure :)

Asvegren responds:

We're addressing the controls in the full release and adding an auto-fire function to the gun. Thanks for the review.

I loved Last Blossom, and I like this! While it's not nearly as deep or complex (which you did note), it is still a solid game.

Good start for a game. I find the first boss too difficult to get past on the later stages because of its fast movement. It would make it a lot more enjoyable for me if there was a way of replentishing the hit points, either after a wave is completed or at random.

Asvegren responds:

Good point. We were thinking that the boss might be tricky, but left it like it was so we could see if that was actually the case. In the main game there will be health upgrades, so it's likely that a boss of this difficulty would have the player have more life to begin with.
