Reviews for "Wilt: Exordium"

Wow, this game is amazingly fun and I can't wait to see the full finished product!
Great retro graphics, music, and atmosphere, keep up the great work.
When in late 2012 can we expect to play Last Blossom??!

Fun XD

While I type this, I'm stuck under a ledge with a skeleton monster watching me from above. I can't get up, because he punches me when I get close enough. The only thing that could fix this is an air attack. Just have him kick in the air when you press S, is that so hard? XD Anyway, otherwise, this is a nice game. Swimming controls are very difficult to handle. Hit detection is alright, the punch seems too stubby for how long it actually is. Have him do more of a lunge when he attacks, if you're going to have him punch. But that's all my nit-picking.

I liked: the music, for some time, but it gets annoying. The overall graphic and 8bit style, it simply RULES. Animation was too choppy for me, maybe bad connection or poor hardware, but usually these are good.

Controls were easy to figure out, but hard to manage because of the chopping. Double jump, wall jump shooting in eight directions is very good. For the story I suggest that you would play the daughter and have to rescue her dad, that would be more weird and surprisingly fresh.

At the passage where the long run jump is explained, I suggest the explanation should appear before you fall into the gorge. If you shoot the zombies from the right side they still fall to the right side. During the talking it would be better that pressing spacebar would speed up the words faster and continous. Also the bridge should extent faster. Overall I would suggest more background work, I dunno if the emptyness is part of the dream.

Thanks for this, it was a joy to play:)

Loved every bit of it. Feels like a blend of Contra and Castlevania. Count me interested in seeing where the story goes from here.

Asvegren responds:

Thank you very much! I've actually never played Contra, but Minotaur loves it (and made me change the shooting code to match it - it was originally aimed with the mouse as opposed to keyboard).
