Reviews for "Wilt: Exordium"

This is a very fun game, but as several people have already stated, the controls take away from my enjoyment. I would prefer if up was jump, and space was shoot/grenade. Or, if A and S were gun and grenade, to prevent accidentally throwing grenades at myself. Also, I would prefer if I could hold the "shoot" button to fire at maximum speed, instead of mashing it over and over as fast as I can (my wrist is actually sore from the boss). Controls aside, I really enjoyed this, the music is a good fit and the challenge level built at a good pace. I only had one glitch, the first time I played the boss level, the second set of small ghosts froze my movement, so I couldn't dodge at all. And even though I somehow survived those, when the big ghost returned, I was still frozen in place so he just bombed me every time he flew over. The glitch never happened again, though. Overall, a great game, 5/5 is you adjust the controls. Keep up the good work, and I look forward to seeing the rest of the adventure :)

We're addressing the controls in the full release and adding an auto-fire function to the gun. Thanks for the review.

awsome game, grafics and music is so retro, but i didnt liked the presision of the controls

I thought it was pretty neat. I would love for some Contra style shooting action though. Also please change the grenade button to d since I was spamming my S key during the boss fight and ended up killing myself because I kept throwing so many grenades.

Asvegren responds:

We will be doing this - thanks for the suggestions.

I enjoyed this, thanks. It has a nice ambiance and an oldschool feel.

For those of you complaining that the final boss battle is too long or too hard, or that you have to mash the fire button: You have grenades use them! Keep in mind that the direction your gun is pointing is the direction that the grenade will be thrown once you hold the button down. Also, you can hold the throw at maximum power until you want to release it, which is good for timing throws.

All around, enjoyable, but you really need to work on the control scheme, and how well it responds. There is way too much sliding, and the "melee" wasn't very solid- If a skeleton did manage to hit you into a block wall of any kind, they locked you there, as the hit animation played no matter if you could or could not take damage.

I find the game was very easy, and that the true final boss was living with the awkward controls. Hell, he didn't even get close to hitting me, I nearly had to restart because of my own GRENADES. You dont have to hold down to charge and throw them, unlike it says, which led to a couple unfortunate accidents.
