Reviews for "Wasted Colony"

I like the graphic's and the game idea's, but unfortunately it seem's....basically it's like the other guy's below me said. Speaking of which did you even get beta-tester's, test out your own game and whatnot? BTW if you need some kind of help with the system I think anyone that created an effective survival zombie horror game may help, specifically the person that created Rebuild, mainly because both these games share some similiar elements. Of course this is just my opinion, and good luck working out the kinks and bug's out of the system :)

Honestly, I just don't understand the thought process of some of the people who make these games. You go to all the work to do the programming and artwork (which is great btw)...but then you can't even be bothered to play-test it? Why would you throw away all that hard work?

Others have described the various problems - such as raids that come out of nowhere to end your game, no ability to sort your survivors or weapons, etc. . I'll add to that a few things:
- bad English that sometimes makes it difficult to understand what it is going on (I still don't understand what it means by "PS we helped the two guys" or whatever it says after a successful mission)
-when survivors on a mission request help you can only send people who've been assigned to guard your safehouse (even if you have other survivors idle in your base you CANNOT send them), and this is ALWAYS followed by a raid on your safehouse
-somethings seems broken with your resource display - sometimes you can't build rooms even though you seem to have enough resources?
-it would be nice to know how much food you are going through in a day
-at the end of every day you should display the overall outcome in 1 place - survivors gained/lost, food used/found, etc.
-before the battle scenes you have that great cartoon picture of the zombie/survivor clash - but you cover it up so quickly that we can't really see it! Why would you go to all the trouble of creating such a great picture if you're not going to let the player see it?

The difficulty shifts way to quickly, plus sometimes it doesn't even make a difference on how many people I send out. On one of the days, I got one hundred percent on a raid and sent fifteen people out armed to the teeth to guard duty plus multiple traps. Didn't go down by a single percent. This could be a great game, if you put in a difficulty setting from easy to hard.

Although a good game with likeable graphics and gameplay, there seems to be quite a lot fo bugs. More than a few times I've had a day go by, and randomly about half of my survivors go missing when there was nothing that happened to cause it

its a nice game.
it could be improved by having an option to sort your survivors.
plus the success of the game depends too much where on the map you start.
the traps are somewhat useless and only are usable once.
you have to scroll around dozens of useless banana hats o be able to equip your survivors with the best gear. fix that with some sort of mini grid inventory

and the ending is....anticlimactic. it sucks a bit. all the trouble for a cliffhanger. and not really a good one.

still, the gameplay is solid and when you get the hang of it it becomes easy.
i wish you would had included another ending if you managed to clear out and secure the whole island like i did.....
