Reviews for "Riddles of Renaissance"

Great concept

I think it's excellent that you've made a game that can challenge the brain, and educate people about the classics at the same time. A very interesting concept, and it forces you to analyze each piece in order to find the subject of the question.
However, I wouldn't call most of the questions riddles. Many of the problems were simply just: "Find this" or "Click That". The quality of the paintings was also a little trying for finding certain things, but then again, there's only so much you can really do when you're digitally transcribing 500 year old paintings into flash. I did enjoy it, and I would encourage you to create more games with an emphasis on education.

bug, IDK if it's your fault

The riddles are good, but it's hard to play because I'm constantly getting a "connecting to Newgrounds gateway" message which remains over a large portion of the screen...aside from that, it's pretty fun

mrty responds:

It's not my fault. Probably just your internet connection.

Awesome!!

Very cool game...

Uhm

I would have given it a much better score. If it weren't for the pictures to decide when the next riddle is up.<<'

mrty responds:

Um... WHAT?

Perfect, outside of 'wrong' sound.

I'll start by simply saying this: I don't like these types of games. They usually boil down to clicking frantically because I'm in the right area, but I just missed out on the 'sweet spot' by a couple of pixels. But for some reason, I greatly enjoyed your game. It was simple, but it had that layer of difficulty with the riddles, which both helped get through the paintings as well as stimulating my mind. The entire game was smooth and well done, from the riddles themselves to the paintings, even something as simple as the art gallery and the optional things to find gave it that little touch extra.

The sole problem I had was, and I hate to be the 'where's the mute button?' guy, but that buzz when I clicked in the wrong area was... really bad. Sound was great, just that one noise that needs changing. But tops game, will be playing again. I hate to think how many times I'll need to play to get the 'perfect score'. Seems almost impossible.

mrty responds:

- I'll update the .swf soon, with wider "sweet spots", so you won't have to be so precise.

- All you need to do to get a perfect score is to beat the game in the easiest difficulty without a single mistake or a hint... Due to the time penalty, it IS impossible to get a perfect score on the other two difficulties. I thought people would be able to figure that out on their own.

- I'll try making a mute button, and maybe changing the noise, since you are the 3rd person to point that out.

Thanks for the review!
