Reviews for "Epic Battle Fantasy 3"

This game is amazing and leosungberg Matt needs to use Berserk on himself not wear a helmet

i hate how i didnt have an account to get the medals but still 5 stars for the series

Now that I have an account, I had to come back to review this game. I know the game is a bit old, but I still have to post my thoughts.

It might be because I was raised on this genre, but on ten days out of ten, I would rather play Epic Battle Fantasy than some mind-numbing Call of Duty rehash. In fact, I would rather play this than half of the mediocre, mass-produced garbage they charge us $60 to play these days.

The Epic Battle Fantasy series is fantastic. I enjoyed the first two, but the leap in evolution between 2nd and 3rd is insane. This is probably the best game in the series (even more so than 4), and I consider the 20 hours I put into it last year to be time well spent. I may well play again.

This is one of the best old-school Final Fantasy/Phantasy Star-style games I've ever played. I honestly can't believe this is a free-to-pay flash game. It boasts clean, colorful graphics, pleasing music and sound effects, high-grade tactical challenges, secrets, medals, and smooth gameplay. I ran into no glitches. The characters walk at a good clip, you enter battle only when you're ready to, and the addition of teleport stations makes going back and forth across the map a breeze.

If I have one complaint, it's that the bosses have too damn many hit points; on the other hand, the sense of accomplishment when I beat them was awesome. The amount of weapons, armor, items, skills and magics available offers a unique experience for each player, and there is a definite strategy behind learning the details of each monsters to discover the most effective attacks against them. There are secret areas, little puzzles to solve, and you can backtrack to old areas once you have the proper item to access previously unreachable spots.

The characters are a bit two-dimensional, but their personalities are developed just enough to make them endearing heroes. Natalie is particularly likable, being the adorable, sassy "hot chick" as well as a veritable fountain of healing spells and damage-dealing salvo. Matt and Lance play off of her well. Actually, none of the characters are useless; each one has the ability to crush the enemies into dust... it's just a matter of finding out how to use their talents.

The story line is pretty basic, but it's serviceable, and the character banter is downright funny. Maybe the humor isn't for everyone, but I liked the fact that you were poking fun at the genre even as you paid homage to it.

There must have some minor issues scattered through the game, as nothing is perfect, but I can't recall any of them. That means it was a good experience.

5 stars. I don't give that out too often.

Thanks, dude!

Even better than EBF4.

This is the best one by far, and probably one of my favorite game on newgrounds.

I love this game so much !
