really cool idea
computer was pretty easy to beat and made a lot of errors. Not like i want to be playing deep blue or anything. It just seemed easy to beat. other than that it was fun to watch the animations! nicely done.
*bug-tried to move a pawn from g2-h3 to capture an enemy pawn and i wasn't allowed to, putting my king into check had nothing to do with it.

Pretty good work. I don't see chess games very often on this site, so that's an automatic +1 point for the review.
After reading the reviews, it seems like people thought the AI was either too easy or too hard. Of course, it's very difficult to make a challenging AI, especially in a flash game with limited CPU usage. However, I think there could have been an easier difficulty level to help the chess Newbies. Personally, thought the AI was very easy. One big problem with the AI is that its checkmate skill is pretty weak. For example, if the AI has king and queen against your loan king, it's unable to checkmate you, but instead simply keeps moving its queen to put you in check.
The animations were pretty good. Not top notch animation, but enough variety for entertainment. The sounds were from warcraft lol. I got all the executions unlocked, but was disappointing that you couldn't re-view the animations without replaying the game.
Most of the animations can be unlocked by using your queen as a bait, since the computer will always target your queen with a lesser piece, if the queen is in target. However, killing its queen is tough because it seldom trades queen for queen. For me, killing the queen using a pawn was the hardest, and I didn't get that done until I played a game preserving nearly my entire pawn line, and finally getting the AI queen stuck. However, the pawn vs. queen animation is certainly the best.

One problem
In chess, when a pawn passes an opponent's pawn (goes next to it), the opponent can take the pawn by moving diagonally. Just thought you should know! Great game.
very nice
i found this quite fun to play, however you lost a point because i had 3 queens and several pawns and no matter what i did i ended up with "stalemate". i couldn't mate in one move but maybe in 3. your auto draw system is quite annoying.
I loved it.....but
couldn't castle. Apart from that well done indeed. 9/10 5/5
