Reviews for "Narcolyxii"

Oh noes! The cookie monster!

...or was it Godzilla? Nice concept, but the storyline seems very weak. Every time I conquered a nightmare, consisting of miniature hot-wheels and flying saucers, I would count down until the little Godzilla flash would pop at the screen and yell, "oh noez!" The mechanics are great and the upgrades are fun and all, but I found myself basically not doing anything once I bought some auto turrets. This is a game that has promise, but needs some more serious work put into it.

Disappointing ending

Seemed a nice game at first, but playing it through the hard way with only my main gun, and then finding out at the end that you have to mash the space bar to get the good ending, I'll just rate it as low as possible.

Seriously, during what kind of mental breakdown do you decide to put something in like that?

Several problems

The game was filled with a lot of really simple bugs that should easily have been noticed and fixed during development.

Bugs:

-The auto-turrets shoot at the corpses of your enemies.
-Upgrade text stays fixed to the menu when you switch to a different upgrade sub-menu.
-Can't switch between weapons. I had the initial laser and the blue one with the auto-component. Once I switched to that I was never able to switch back to the default laser (which is the best non-automatic weapon btw).
-You can move to the left when you're in the dream-reality state after each wave.

Just generally bad design:

-The reality patches you have to shoot are utterly pointless. They occur at the very start of the leve. You pop em then are done. What's the point?
-Terrible animation.

I could go on but I think you get the point.

This game would be passable if you had put any time at all into polish. Was this made on a really short deadline?

Ehh....

First time I played it, I was sent to a desert island and only could move with the control keys. Then it woke me up. A little piece of the game you left in there? Was interested and tried to go back and restart but wouldn't let me. So, I'm guessing it was a glitch and let me go to that island. Anyways, good story line, just very buggy like everyone else is saying.

I still can't select my main laser...

Good game but kinda sucks that you just bought a sucky new cannon and you cant select your main one.
Now i'm bound to that cannon and it sucks as damage, already died 4 times and gave up.
