Reviews for "Narcolyxii"

First of all..

...its February. Still unable to select main gun by clicking icon, only by clicking on base (adding 1-9 keys would've been easier)

Also you can do same level over and over again to get "fragments of reality" - removes the need for progression and weapon upgrades from the game.

What a PREPOSTEROUSLY bad video game.

I don't want it to sound like I'm just being mean out of hand, I use the word preposterous because the things that are wrong with this game are ultimately just the result of lazy design. They are things that should never have to be seen by players. There is nothing wrong with the story here. There was an opportunity here to tell a very good story.

What went wrong was the overall effort put into clean game design. For one thing, this game is absolutely full of bugs. They're everywhere. From detection flaws caused by the detection zones being large rectangles much larger than the enemies, to gunfire effects that persist after the level is over, to inability to change easily from weapon to weapon. Add on top of that auto-firing weapons that spend more than half of the time shooting at nothing at all, and the other half shooting at enemies you've already shot down (not to mention that enemies you've shot down block you from shooting enemies that are quickly slipping past your defenses), and the sloppy and unimaginative sprite animation, and this game becomes literally painful to play.

Then there is the matter of how your progress in the game is measured: by your (or your finicky autocannons') ability to shoot a moving rectangle of static that always appears before the level actually begins, and always in the same place. No skill, luck or wits required, it just shows up every few levels before you even begin playing and gets shot.

What this game needs desperately is a great deal more care put into it. Animations need to be cleaner, movement needs to be smoother, controls need to be fine-tuned, and detection has to be tightened up dramatically. More than anything, this game appears to have suffered from an enormous lack of play-testing.

liked it but

I liked this game alot bug the higher I got the more bugs I encountered. I could not get the stasis generator to work at all. Sometimes you get ships that move across the screen that you can not hit and they still count against you if they enter the base.

It could do so much

Alright. What do we have here?
It is an interesting story that can reach a higher level. It seems to repetitive and graphics dont do much for the game. I kinda woke everybody in my house last night during the last struggle to wake up LOL. And I also agree with the other guys with using keys to switch from turret to turret.

8/10 represents my sci-fi interest in these games

EPICCC BUG LOLOLOLOLOLLOL

the game overall was not bad but if you beat the game and then load it back up start playing until you get to about 160% awake. the enemy's will eventually just overload the screen and follow you until you eventually are forced to restart the level you were on where more invincible enemy's appear. funny bug but kind of a pain to watch. another is the land obliterator upgrades do not even do anything i drained about 100,000 cash into it but no angle upgrade to be found. good for a one man game but as others were saying just a few bug fixes and some minor tweaks she should be Good to GO!!!!
