... and not regret doing so too much later on.
A bit too many bugs, but with a decent enough storyline. Should've been a bit harder - or the options of easy/normal and hard.

This game kicks so much ass! All though i can see why many people complain about it. i can live with the bugs, after all, I did manage to complete the game!

Heh, I got the VX Specialist medal on my first playthrough because I'm just that stubborn :)
Not a bad game
But the art is so awful I can't rate it above 4.
Seriously, find someone who can draw and get them to flesh out and improve on what you have here. Also, some of the ideas others have mentioned - The having to walk through wakeup or walk to select nightmare or upgrade instead of having it in menu screens, and a LOT of the sticky shit.
But seriously man, The art is killing you. Look at a game like "Armed Prophet." The coding and gameplay is ass and boring - but it looks polished and well done, so people overlook it's gameplay flaws. Humans are Visual Beings - what we see is what informs us of what we believe to be true.

Great game both the idea of the dream and the gameplay. BUT its really a shame how f***in much bugs there are in this game: you cant switch back from the liquid nitrogen generator gun because they block eachother, you can upgrade the VX land obliterator all you want but nothing happens, the stasis generator refuses to fire, all auto guns keep shooting at dead flying crafts that are falling out of the screen given that its the most forward enemy, the upgrade price for the final damage upgrade of the VX precision laser cannon says 7000 when it cost me 12000 to get it and even though i purchased the "strong will" and mashed my spacebar as much as i could i still didnt manage to get the bar past halfway before my time ran out. I hope you can fix some/all of these bugs if you could it would make this game truely great.
