Reviews for "Greater Fighter"

Is it just me ...

... or are all the enemies a tad difficult and much higher level? It's like shining force meets a difficultly stacked top down shooter without any of the cool powerups. Astroy box boy tries to save outer space buuuut the lvl 1 enemies whoop yo ass.

"The idea of combining turn-based strategy elements with arcade-style shooter stages is brilliant, but the game suffers from a ton of minor flaws that make it incredibly frustrating and nearly unwinnable. Both sound and graphics are excellent, but the following things need to be ironed out:"

I won't quote DeppJones entire post, put please, PLEASE read it. REALLY. This game could easily be a 5 and 10 game.

ok...

Pretty hard? no problem! Too much enemy health? So what?! Unbalanced characters? hey, Im a PRO! but...I cant stand the fact that there is no Pause button! FAIL!

but i liked the art and the game system the "silence" rule suks but its ok, take the critics and use them to make a second one.

HARD

I don't know if I was missing something, untalented, just plain stupid, or what, but this game was REALLY hard. I couldn't get past the first level o_________o It seemed like a good concept, and a well thought out game, but I got royally destroyed, thus I didn't have much fun.

Just a bit too hard

I really liked the idea of the game, having a sort of turn-based movement with different units, and then engaging in a side-scrolling shooter whenver the units met... Very nice. But the actual gameplay seems a bit unbalanced. One of my units died on the first go, the 'silence' rule seems extremely unfair if it takes a great deal of rounds of fighting to finish off an enemy's hit points, and on the whole, I just became exasperated with the idea of having to fight a large amount of enemies that would probably qualify as bosses in any other side-scroller, not to mention taking them on with units that seemed extremely weak compared to my enemies. All in just the first level what's more... Not to say it ought to be EASY, but it seems like there at least ought to be some progression of difficulty, beginning at something to get you into the swing of it. Lots of potential, just a bit too hard.
