Reviews for "Super Adventure Game Land"

Great title

I knew this was going to be a very interesting game just from the great title it had. At first, I thought it might be a joke game where it was simply no gameplay at all and that guy talking on for so long. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that it did indeed have a story and adventure of its own. I do not know how to talk to the princess or fight the dragon or anything. It is still a very cute effort because you are simply able to have those cute little graphics. I like how stupidly the character's legs move.

squidly responds:

Ouch, I don't like those "joke games" where the joke is that the game doesn't exist.
I like some substance, you know?
And uh, to talk to the princess, I mean, it's just like the info booth guy.
And the dragon, just keep going right... You'll go through the "dangerous outside," the forest of homicidal trees, and eventually you'll get to his cave.

great parody

I love the sense of humor in this game and the history lesson about the video game crash. The sense of humor the best part was the 8kb of text eating up the entire memory of the game that was funny. I was only confused about one thing maybe I just screwed up but when you where talking about the one who saved video games I expecting mario to pop out cause as far as I know he is the one that saved video games along with the nes. So why the dragon from adventure from atari. I like the end with getting the axe to chop down where the dragon was standing. It is nice to see a game that not only harvest a great sense of humor but also shows that you have good knowledge of video game history as well. Good Job.I did think in places the humor was kind of dumb like when talking to the info guy and some of what the princess had to say that is why 8 instead of the nine. But the signs where awesome.I also like how you have responded personally to every one on the front page of reviews.

squidly responds:

The dragon saved the games because he simply did, I like to think of him as the "Dragon behind it all" and all that.

If I ever release a sequel, it'll explain that further.

And thanks for the compliments, and yeah, I do try to answer all the reviews I get.

Awesome!

I played, I won, I will play this game for years and years also!!!

squidly responds:

I don't know how you'll manage to do THAT, I'm quite sick of it, but that also may have something to do with the 5,000 beta playthroughs I had to do of it.

nice

liked the game, funny.

"beat the game in 5 seconds to unlock luigi" lol

squidly responds:

Thanks, I thought nobody got that joke.
You do, right?
It's making fun of those ridiculous "cheat codes" that we used to find on the internet for Super Mario 64 so you could "unlock Luigi" who was apparently, the most well hidden "secret character" to ever come to be.

Nice

It was a nice little distraction but the music sucked so it ruined most of the experience for me.

squidly responds:

Oh yeah, the music was absolutely terrible, my ears were grinding whenever I listened to it as I worked on the game, for it set the mood.

So yeah, I hope those submissions get blammed to death so I don't feel the obligation of crediting the author, I mean, I don't want somebody that terrible getting any attention he doesn't deserve, you know what I mean?

lawl.
