Reviews for "Dungeon Cleaner"

Good game depsite some issues.

Visual Presentation: A
Graphics were simple yet very good and well defined. The interface for weapons, life, etc. was clear and easy to read, although I would have made it a tad bigger.

Music and other Audio: B+
Sound effects were appropriate. The music loop was pretty good, reminded me of some of the better NES music back in the day, like Konami's stuff. It kind of got stale rather quickly though, but not to the point of irritation.

Gameplay: A
Really fun combination of platformer, shooter and RPG. Secret walls, traps, respawning enemies, shops, keys, there sure was a lot going on on this game. I found a few of the spike placements questionable but on the whole the level designs were very well done. The speed was a little slow to my tastes, and got laggy in a few places. Not too difficult but not a game to be breezed through.

Controls: Double F-
The control scheme on this game left quite a bit to be desired. I'm moving the character with the arrows, and trying to jump with the shift key WHILE using the mouse to target enemies, but then i have to hit c to lay dynamite...it's just muddled. Almost seems like you forgot people only have two hands. I appreciate that you included alternate buttons to use but realistically there is no adequate layout for use when you have to A)move the character B)interact with the environment and C)aim your weapons with the mouse. That's THREE different primary control funcions so you can only effectively use two at a time. All the swapping my hands all over the place made it frustrating. Having the up arrow jump would have worked nicely, while it wouldn't solve the overall problem of the control it would make jumps easier and I wouldn't keep getting a dialogue box to pop up and ask me about sticky keys that happens after hitting shift 5 times within a certain timeframe.

Overall: A
Despite the somewhat crippling control scheme, the game was fun and enjoyable, and all the little elements you added for replay value are deinitely noticed. If you make a sequel to this I would play it. 4/5, 9/10.

Controls sucked

If you jumped with up and could changee weapons with the mouse wheel then it would have been a lot better but using shift to jump was dumb

Not bad...

It was a pretty fun game. It lagged a little for me but it's probably my computer so I didn't take off any marks for that. However the knives at the beggining of the game are hard to control so that makes for tricky gameplay. It was fun, don't get me wrong, but it had some... annoying patches.

jump with W

I couldn't figure out how to knock down walls with dynamite and movement was very frustrating, why not make him jump with the w key? if you could i would have given 9/10.

Not bad, I suppose.

As Inkdragon said earlier, the concept, graphics and weapons are pretty good for this game. However, I encountered a bug on the second screen involving the key and the locked door. Also, it might not hurt to make the controls universal, rather than left or right handed. Overall, I liked the way it played, but the controls did make it really frustrating.
