I WAS SO EXITED TO PLAY THIS AND ITS A DEMO!?!?!?!?
i hope u will soon make this FREE to play.

screw that man

i ain't paying $20 for a flash game good or not. I don't know what you were thinking charging people to play the full version, that's just ridiculous. Sorry man i know you worked your ass off on this for the past 3 years but you should have expected many fans will be dissapointed at the pay-to-play thing. I didn't even bother finishing this demo.

Demo?

I was expecting a point-and-click horror Flash game, but this game isn't really "horror". It's more like gory, bloody. There is little to build up the anticipation, which is a technique you seem to use often and effectively in the previous 2 games.

As a horror game, I suppose feeling helpless would greatly increase the scariness of the experience. In this game I feel powerful, especially since I have HP and Powers. These make it seem like it doesn't really matter as much if I get caught and be forced to face a demon/monster.

The graphics are great, way better than those in previous games. The idea of having multiple ways to solve puzzles makes it more fun too.

On the other hand, achievements? Scores? I've never seen the point of having such features in point-and-click games. It's not like we're going compare scores with each other, replay the entire game till we get everything or do speedruns.

After finished the demo, I'm not impressed enough to fork out $19 for the rest of the game. Sure the game looks great and all, but content-wise, it is a little lacking. Also, it wouldn't be scary anymore after I finish the game, so the replay value is very low.

I've only recently learnt of this series, so I played all three games in order continuously. I have to admit that the first game was the scariest of the three. The second game wasn't as scary but had a great ending. Merely increasing the gore and corpses doesn't make a horror game scary, only gross.

Sorry, I like the series for the make-me-jump-out-of-my-chair shocks, which is the whole point of horror games/films anyway. This demo only made me raise my eyelids.

10 stars for the effort, -7 for making a horror game that doesn't contain "horror".

A bit more indepth

So my original review got deleted so I will actually review this rather then rant.

I gave this a zero for the reason that this is a demo and I do not want to pay $20 for a full version. But it is more then that. This game was too short and did not give anything to the plot. The original two games had an explanation to the Exmortis and gave plenty of backstory, this game however is no more then the protagonist wanting to kill the big bad guy. Maybe if you travelled to some sort of place with books telling you more backstory it might of made this game more memorable. Even if you did not have to read the books it would have been good for fans like me.

The first Exmortis had plenty of atmosphere, being in a creepy house all alone. the second lost most of that but was still scary, this however was more of an action game with puzzles. The game never got scary for me but thats probebly just me. I was dissapointed on many levels when I was playing this like how it gives you points for completing the game which do nothing other then to give you a high score and that took away from the experiance. Also the "moral choice system" did not really matter as all it did was tell you wether you are good or evil. Nothing more and nothnig less.

I applaud you for taking 3 years to develop this but just because you pour your heart and soul into something does not mean that everybody will like it or that they will shell out $20. Paying $20 for a flash game is quite a stretch for me. Sure I have cash to burn but I prefer to burn that money on worthwhile stuff.

**SPOILER ALERT**
The guard walking across the walkway looked terrible. That walking animation needs to be improved. It just looked so out of place. Also the choice to either let the cannibal live or die does not really do anything to add to the story, it is just wether or not you want to see the way the big bad guy dies before you get to him.

When I got to the big bad guys castle I was expecting horrifying creatures and awesome puzzles where I would have to crawl my way up to where the big bad guy was, but no, all it was shooting guys with guns. I'm sorry but What The Hell man, guys with guns why not demons and complex puzzles that would make it more fun. I am quite sure that I will not get that in the full version.
